carbon roof overlay (pictures)
I finally found someone that does a carbon overlay that i liked so i went and had it fitted.
I would like to get some feed back on whether you think it works or not. Please be honest as it can be removed . Normally if i like something i don't ask for opinions but Im still undecided but that maybe because its made a big difference.
The main purpose was to make the car appear lower, ie your eye now takes the top of the door as the height of the car and not the roof.
Here is the product and like i say its the best i've seen, it comes from Japan .

They do a glossy black version which has a smaller weave but IMO it doesn't look like carbon as carbon isn't jet black. Its hard to tell from the pictures but in the sunlight it reflects the same as carbon does.
They told me if i wanted it to be a bit more glossy i should give it one coat of thin laquer but more than one would make it dull down again.

Its a company over here in the UK who import the material from Japan (Its a brand new product that the Japanese have manufactured and it costs him £1500 or $2300 for a 50 metre roll which is wide enough to do a roof in one sheet). They charged me £200/$320 including materials and labour. They lay the sheet on oversized and then trim the edges pushing the edges right down into the drip channel.
Here is the site, maybe he could point you in the right direction so you could get enough people to buy a roll, 50 metres will do 40 roofs (a good return if you do the maths). He could also send out individual orders in cardboard tubes i guess.
They also do carbon wrapping. Check the gallery.
