Thumbs down BROKEN NECK from being rear-ended in g35, SEE PICS

SEE PICS below, note taken with low resolution G1 phone that is very dark with no flash.

I recently was rear-ended in my g35, via another car being pushed into mine after being rear ended. The first car was going about 40, maybe more, when it failed to even try to stop when traffic backed up quickly.

I was hit by a toyota corolla from behind, after coming to a complete stop.
A combination of hearing the accident and tensing up, looking up and to the right in the rear-view mirror, and having my brembo brakes being locked down on the rotors, may have all contributed to my injury besides the impact.

I am pretty tought after 16 years of playing high level soccer, track and football therefore nominal pain doesnt phase me. I figured aches and pains were from the flu, not the accident.

got a call 2 days later that I had apparently broken my neck in the accident, and a neck brace and cat-scan were needed ASAP. Luckily nothing else was fractured, and it is not near my spinal chord. An appointment with neurosurgery is on friday, which they will decide if surgery, pins, etc. are needed.

My g35 doesnt look to be too bad in the pics, but some pieces of metal from the rear inner bumper are pushing through, the bumper is also cracked and warped around the license plate area, the bumper will have to be replaced. The rear right quarter panel is bulging out slightly which will require some body work. My greddy evo II exhuast is bent down a little and pushed in slightly, and is making little bit of noise.

looks like the neck of the vertebrae snapped opposed the vertebrae snapping close to the spinal cord. Very lucky and heal quickly!

You remind me of:

Is it the bottom-most vertebra in the x-ray that's damaged? C6? C7? Compression fracture or some other injury? I ask because I had a compression fracture of C6 (motorcycle accident) over 20 years ago. My advice: take care of that damn thing, do all your physio and do what the docs say. I didn't know about mine until 2 years later when it was still sore. Even now I have pain from that injury every single day.
