Warranty, is it worth it?

Warranty, is it worth it?
Hey Everybody,
I just recently bought my 2006 Infinity G35 base sedan about a month ago. I told myself that I wasn't going to buy the warranty but they got me. I bought a 3 year 40,000 mile warranty for 2,100 through Year One. It's the warranty that covers everything besides wear and tear items.
Once I started reading on this forum and how everybody seems to be doing pretty good with their cars, I figured I should go ahead and get my full refund back. Just wondering what I should do.
Also, is there a club in the Phoenix area?
Thanks, Jacob

That's about what I paid to add mine onto my car when I bought it last year. It was already CPO though so I'm not sure how much the Elite warranty would have cost by itself instead of just upgrading the CPO warranty to 7yr/100K.

My 2004 has an extended warranty up to 7yrs/100K miles. It has paid for itself and then some at this point. I have 92K miles on my car right now. Extended warranty cost me $1300.
Here's what has been replaced under my extended warranty:
Both door locks replaced
Both heated seat switches replaced
Both rear hubs replaced
Transmission Valve Body replaced (most expensive repair, about $1400) warranty covered!
To me it was worth every penny since I daily drive mine and put miles on my car real quick. Other people drive it on weekends and may not run into the same issues I had in the past. I recently got another car so I only drive the G35 about 3 times a week at most to keep the miles below the 100K warranty limit as long as I can. It's kind of hard though since I love driving my G35 everywhere!

Thanks everybody for your reply's. I'm glad to see that their is nothing to major going wrong with our cars. I just think that I got ripped off with a 2100 warranty. I will definitly try to see if I could get the Elite plan with Infiniti. I think I would be better off I just fix the things when they do break. Hopefully I'm not making a big mistake.

You got ripped. For $2100, you could have purchased a 7 year, 100k mile plan.
The 3 year, 40k plan you have is only worth $630.

I would just put money into a savings account for a year
odds are you wont have any problems
I have an 04 Sedan with 80k and have no issues at all.
I drive it semi hard and everything is working just like the day I bought it
If the warranty excluses wear and tear.....your're not covered by much
bascially the trans and motor.
radio, seats, interior, etc is all wear and tear

The savings account idea is a good one if you are disciplined enough to deposit that money and leave it.
