Non-pro-tip: don't try to follow the timing cover install Guide for installation without upper oil pan for your engine with an oil pan already installed. There is a separate section for the installation with the upper oil pan on.

that said - I forgot to remove the dowels from the front cover and couldn’t place the cover with fresh rtv on it. I tried to force it, and all I did was get RTV everywhere and a front pan seal squishing out every time. 2 hours of cleanup later with solvent and paper towels and dowels removed, I’m back at square one with the timing cover install. 10/10 do not recommend.

Next time I’ll make sure to pull the dowels before hand….. maybe even set them after installing the timing cover and installing a few bolts. The fsm does say to set them into the rear cover, idk.

What happened? Did it hydrolock RTV into the hole because of those dowels?

New Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02s to replace my old Contis from way back in 2016! The old ones didn’t have that many miles on them, but the rubber was super hard and they were noisy, likely due to a bad wheel bearing on the passenger front that made that tire wear unevenly.

Loving them so far. They really complement the new axles, hubs and diff bushings I did earlier this year. Car handles really well. Very competent.

Oh yeah, also replaced my valve stems which were the originals from about 20 years ago…

I swore I was going to put Pilot Sport 4S on (they are great tires), but the Contis were on sale and almost 600$ cheaper for the set - and they are pretty good tires overall as well. Hard to pass up that deal.

dowels are supposed to be removed and placed in the rear timing cover, I had them in the front cover. Critical mistake.

mmm shiny. So great to see some Work Wheels on a G these days. So many reps with weird specs.

Replaced my torn seats in my 2005 G35 Coupe 6MT with in great condition used Braum seats from Facebook with used Planted seat brackets. Looks decent. Anyone else here has done this ? Do you run a harness bar and 5-point seat belts ?

Started working on a forever home for the G today, sold my shop that was located about 3 miles from my house, using those funds to build a new shop at my house. Probably just going for a metal uninsulated 3 car garage with a ceiling height tall enough to put in a full size Bendpak. Going to start getting quotes from contractors in a week or so, my second floor of my house, my pumphouse, and behind my pumphouse on pallets are literally ALL my stuff. It's been so much work hauling truckloads of tools and equipment back from that other shop.

The G is sitting sad in a field of overgrown grass at the moment while the driveway is being prepped for some concrete.

I can't ****ing wait until this is all done, it's been a long time coming and it's going to be f-n'tastic.

I just got a old house myself, going to get it updated and ready for the winter up here. Then next year's a garage for the G. Over winter I'm going to start my full and build the de.

Very nice everyone!

I was gifted a used lift around Christmas of last year when we bought our farm. Farm came with a bonus barn that’s currently covered by brush. Once I expose it, I should be able to clear that one out

That one will become my farm equipment barn, clearing out the tall barn for the lift and vehicles.

I honestly can’t wait until I have the time for it. Deep into the farmhouse renovation atm. The lift needs some hydraulics fixed, but nothing serious (leaky connections, etc).

new year new space!

Man I hear you about the old farmhouse life, my house was built 1905 and it's been in a constant state of construction and disrepair since I bought it 12 years ago

The rural area swallowed up the farmland in the 1970's so I do have neighbors but everyone is on 1-3 acre lots. Barn is long since gone, my driveway used to be the fueling station. State came and removed the underground fuel tank sometimes in the 1990s.
