what to use to clean maf?

i've got the ses light on in my car and when i got it checked it came up as maf trouble. not sure of the exact code but, i've had it since i put my stillen intake in. the car runs and drives fine. i just wanna try taking out the maf sensor and cleaning it then reset my ses to see if it trips again. i'm wondering what i should use to clean the maf. is brake cleaner or simple green cleaner ok to use? also, anything else i should know before removing it?

CRC MAF Cleaner. You can find it just about anywhere auto parts are sold.

^+1. Also, don't drown it in the cleaner and make sure it's completely dry before reinstalling it.

Yeah, be damn careful how and what you use to clean it. I've learned the hard way unfortunately in the past.

yup use crc but be sure not to spray too close cus the strong air pressure could damage the maf wire. shoot for a far distance.

i tried using compressed air to blow it clean and reset the ecu and the ses came back on after racking up some miles. may try finding another maf and seeing if it's just a faulty maf.

Compressed air was probably too strong for those tiny fine wires in the maf. Check the SES code before going spending more $$....Gary

yea i should've gotten the actual code when i had it checked but, judging from the code me and the guy checking it both agreed it was something to do with the maf. this all started when i installed my intake. kinda crazy.
