Jiffy Lube stealing my money?
Hey everyone, interesting title right for the thread right? So i get my oil changes done at jiffy lube (my dad won't let me do them myself), hence my name. Now, to my point, I got my oil changed at 30k miles, penzoil platinum synthetic oil, and they put that little sticker on my windshield telling me to change my oil at 33k miles, now correct me if i'm wrong (i don't think i am) but synthetic oil can be changed every 5k+ miles?

Jiffy Lube probably isn't stealing YOUR money, they're probably stealing your DAD's money.
Was that around the time the cable guy walked in and offered to check YOUR oil?

Don't let the trolls get you down. I would run it 7500 miles, checking the oil level DAILY until you get a feel for the oil consumption, An acceptable level of oil use is about one quart in 5000 miles. Once you have that, when you go in next time, WATCH THEM CLOSELY as they work. I wouldn't put it past these guys to put in one brand and tell you it's another. If you can stand close to where they are working, listen to them opening the bottles, If they don't make that "clicking" noise of the seal breaking, you will know they refilled the bottles with a cheaper brand. The way I did it in the past, with my company cars, was to buy my own oil and filter and let them change it.

My parents didnt want me to work on the car either.
Then one day I had the intake manifold off my car (it was a firebird).
I would not go to jiffy lube, is there an indy shop nearby? I would RUN from chain auto stores (Pep boys, midas, etc).
Oil changes are cake. I do in them in parking lots. The most difficult part is recycling the oil.
