So i am causally driving today and I put the car in neutral at a red light.When the light turns green my shifter wouldn’t go in 1st gear and was stuck on neautral.Finally after playing with the shifter for a second it finally managed to go into 1st.I have a 6mt sedan and I got my transmission diagnosed by a shop who specializes in Gs/Zs and they told me my transmission was smooth.I am just really confused why that happened?? Should I not think about much til it happens again?

 

Next time it happens see if shifting to neutral, release clutch, engage clutch, shift to 1st works.

If it does NOT work then it sounds like something binding up on the shifter itself, not the transmission.

Have you replaced the tranny fluid lately?
