It only does that if you unlock it with the remote and then don't open a door. After a minute or so it re-locks itself.

Re-programming or Adding New Key FOBs

Yes, all Nissan/Infiniti vehicles auto-lock themselves if the Key FOB is used to unlock it, but the doors are not opened within 90 sec. sometimes can be frustrating, but can also provide security.

If you get intercepted by a friend in a parking lot who drags you in for another drink....don't have to go out there and check if you left your car unlocked.

Contribution to the thread:
Inserting and Removing the Key from the Ignition 6 times in 10 seconds immobilizes the vehicle and renders all KEY FOBS useless. Want to really mess with someone's G or Nissan for that matter...insert your key in his/her car's ignition 6 times in 10 seconds.

After he starts crying perform the following procedure. It can also be used to add up to 5 Key FOBs to 1 Vehicle. This is useful when you want an aditional key or can be used to erase old FOB programming from vehicle in case you lose a key FOB.

KEY FOB ID CODE ENTRY PROCEDURE

Step 1) Sit in drivers seat, close and lock all doors.

Step 2) Insert key into and remove it from ignition key cylinder more than six times within 10 seconds. (Hazard warning lamps will then flash twice).
NOTE: Withdraw key completely from ignition key cylinder each time. If procedure is performed too fast, system will not enter registration mode.

Step 3) Insert key into ignition key cylinder and turn to ACC position.

Step 4) Push any button on remote controller once. (Hazard warning lamps will then flash twice). At this time, the oldest ID code is erased and the new ID code is entered.

Step 5) Do you want to enter any additional remote controller ID codes?
A maximum of five ID codes may be entered. If more then five ID codes are entered, the oldest ID code will be erased. If you do not want to enter any additional remote controller ID codes, go to Step 9).

Step 6) ADDITIONAL ID CODE ENTRY
Lock all doors with LH (driver side) lock/unlock switch (in main power window and door lock/unlock switch).

Step 7) Push any button twice on remote controller once, (Hazard warning lamps will then flash twice). At this time, the oldest ID code is erased and the new ID code is entered.

Step 8) Do you want to enter any additional remote controller ID codes?
If so, unlock doors then repeat Step 6) and Step 7).

Step 9) When complete, open door, and check operation of remote.

Anyone know how to get my key to turn on the ignition? My second dealer provided key stopped working. It can be inserted in ignition (2004) but when turned, the motor just cranks without starting. It was stored in a dresser drawer for years & now is useless. Remote still works but only opens doors.

...the motor cranks but won't start? Not to be obvious or disrespectful by any means but thats going to be filed under "mechanical problems" i believe. As in "my ***** broke" mechanical problems. Seriously though, if none of your keys will start your car you either have a mechanical issue (batt not fully charged, **** outta gas) or a random anti-theft occurence. Either way i'd be doing some searching and asking at this point.

Note...
My spare key will not start the car. My main key will. The service guy guessed over the phone that it must have come into contact with a magnetic field. He's paid way too much too guess.
Any more better suggestions?

Ahh, sorry, understood it wrong. Would this be out of the question: drive up to the stealership on a saturday and say "Hey, i've got this key from dealer, it doesn't work (as per demonstration)... so fix it. K thanks. Oh, and while you're at it i would like these 13 not-so-well-known programming options customized (post #74). And give me a muffin... beeches (https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-coupe-v35-2003-07/116736-what-free-stuff-did-you-get-your-g-purchase.html post #6)"

Your second key is not properly programmed (transponder recognition). Take it to the dealership to have them reprogram the keys. You will need to have ALL of your keys present when doing the programming. There are a handful of locksmiths that can do the work but the programmers cost several thousand dollars and most locksmiths won't have what you need.

Don't want to spoil your theory but the window comes down slightly so it doesn't scrub the frame at the top.
Sorry but you are wrong, it is in fact so that the windows pushes up INTO a seal instead of against it. It makes for a better seal.
