Screeching Buzzer Sound
Every now and then, when I put the key in the ignition I get this strange screeching buzzer like noise. Sounds almost like a fire alarm or something. I pull the key and when I put it back in, no problem. ANY IDEA WHAT THIS IS? The sound itself is strange, almost like a fire alarm with dying batteries if that can give you some sort of idea. Thanks in advance for any input.

I know exactly what you're talking about, the same thing happened to me the other day. The sound was coming from behind the speedometer, right? It's only happened to me that one time, and it just happened to be the day I was bringing my car to the dealer for an oil change. I mentioned it to them when I got therte and they had no clue what it was and kinda brushed it off. Oh well.

YES! That is exactly what I am talking about. This is the second time in as many months that this has happened. The one thing I noticed is that it only seems to happen at night, but this may be a coincidence. It sounds like your problem occured during the day. Uggh .. this one is a true mystery!

Yeah... that happened to me for about 2 days straight after i went through a lot of water in some heavy rains we had all week, like 3 weeks ago.
I was going to video tape it, and post it here.... because it would happen everytime i put the key in the car, and then after that even if i took the key out the sound would continue, horrible loud constant schreech..... but it went away before i got around to taping it.... haven't had a problem since?

ya i heard that noise before too, the strange thing was that every time i get that noise, before it happens, my turn signals don't make that clicking noise. I would assume that theses too little problems are related..i asked the dealer and he said he knew the problem and it was some elctrical modul in the steering column and that they will be getting the part for it soon but never heard a response from him after that. i gotta call them up and bitch at them a bit to filter out my anger about my clutch replacement.

Yea.. Same thing happened to me.. It happened to me as I locked the doors with the key fob as I was inside the car. Wen I opened the door, unlocking with the key fob, I heard the noise... I couldn't turn on Acc. or ON in the car.. So I locked it again, unlocked .. Then no more problem.. I thot it had something to do with the alarm, but I gess not?
