I've had the car for about 3 years (a week before my 16th birthday, until now, a week before my 18th birthday) and can't possibly imagine getting a different car (at least in the same price range) than a G35. Definately get the car, but make sure you're responsible to take care of it

I see a lot of posts about maturity. I thought it was mature to start this thread in the first place. Definitely more mature than I was at 17.
Of course, I'm from the old school - bought my first car by myself and paid insurance plus all maintenence (1979 Pontiac Grand Prix). My parents didn't buy me $h!t.

I'm agreeing with him....it isn't about what TYPE of car you get, rather how you ACT in response to the car you get. Getting a new car handed to you is a responsibility, make sure u let ur parents know u appreciate it, and u deserve it. I got my parents to split the cost of my G, so i paid half (I was 19 at the time...but I make sure I appreciate the PRIVILEDGE OF DRIVING.

OK OK, enough of me sounding like an old man/father....GET THE G AND ENJOY IT!

i say go for it. If you parents feel that u are responsible, and u u'rself feel that u are going to be resposible...then do it. My parents are buying my little brother (17 too) an 04 track 350z.

Go for it. I got mine a few weeks ago about a month after I turned 16. Of course the only way my parents could've afforded it was by buying a wrecked black coupe from Nevadaa and fixing it all for less than 15 grand w/ 50k miles on it and shipping it back out here to Illinois. Anyway it all comes down to maturity. Over the years I was a nice kid, got good grades, swam in a club, stayed out of trouble (for the most part) and earned the trust of my parents, mainly my dad

Anyway they felt I was responsible enough to have it so they gave it to me. I don't race and show off but I'll admit to the occassional fun ride here and there. Anyway I love this car more than my own life haha and if you're willing to take care of it and treat it like it should be treated then take it. I've had mine a while and I'm still soaking in the joy and am so happy my parents would even think of getting me it. Black's a biatch to keep clean though!!! Gotta take what you can get though!!

P.S. Don't worry about kids messing it up. Here I know a kid who has a 6MT and another with an M3 and they've had no problems. The only thing I recall was this one rich fellow that went from one car to another every two months on leases. He got his sh*t wrecked but from ex-gf's hehe.

hey good luck if they buy it for you . I have 06 coupe 3 weeks old totaly love it but i am also 40 years old and I can tell you from experence from owning 20,or so fast cars and slow alike that if you do not respect the power and abilityof this car you will hurt yourself get the feel for the car for a good while before you go all out use your head little at a time find the limits of the car slowly good luck matt from peabody ma .
