Exhaust Tone

Is the exhaust louder/deeper on an 04 than the 05-06?

I posted a thread about this a long time ago. Search it. Some people seem to think the 04 is louder, but I dont notice a difference at all. Plus Infiniti didnt modify the exhaust over the years..

Infinti got it right with the exhaust sound on its G coupe, and they would be foolish to tamper with it. The sound is sporty but not overwhelming. In other words it's a sound that you can live with without it ever annoying you. There are some cars that sound better for a short time frame, but the drone gets annoying on long trips.

i definitely think that the 05 is louder tan the 04, and that the 06 isnt as loud as either. there is definitely lore grumble in the 05 - ive owned the 05 and the 06.

ztube only affects teh sound of the intake, it wouldn't affect the exhaust sound. Youre talking about the sound coming from the engine bay, not the backend of the car.

He didn't say searching was hard on this site, just that he's too lazy to do it.

When I sit in my friend's 04, I hear the exhaust a bit more than I do in my 05. However, from the outside they sound the exact same.

Maybe the 05+ has a bit more sound insulation?

Wait a minute. I think this is getting really subjective here. You're saying the 04 is louder, but...

Honestly.. That is completely untrue.

My exhaust note changed entirely above 3000 RPM's when I put a Z-Tube on my car. You notice it tremendously when you drive in an area where there are a lot of surrounding structures to bounce the exhaust noise off of. It's both louder and sounds different at those higher RPM's.
