Car stalled on freeway last night WTF?

My car stalled twice last night while gunning it on the freeway. Now I know what people are talking about. I have the Injen intake. Can somebody let me know how to repair this or where the post is on how to fix this?

Is this caused by the Injen intake?

It has to be the intake because it's the only engine mod I have.

mrelussive,

can you expand it little bit more because i just install the nismo intake and a little bit concern. I did remove the foam and the plastic piece where the air filter is sitting at. Now lotsa more air going to the filter.

The best fix for this so far is to place something in front of the filter so that it will not create turbulance from the outside air rushing in. The current problem you have right now is the MAF is reading the car to be lean when you let off the thottle, which in turn tells the car to shut down for engine safety. Ingen should have a new version of the intake to cure this problem.

To be the most beneficial to the readers of this post, it would be very helpful if you would specify whether you are driving the 6MT or the automatic. So, here are a few specific questions:

(1) Do you have the coupe or the sedan?

(2) Do you have the 5AT or the 6MT?

(3) Did you install Injen CAI part # RD1990 or RD1992?

(4) Did you remove the foam bumper insert that sits between the bumper cover and the CAI filter?

(5) Did you remove the black plastic insert that sits between the bumper cover and the CAI filter?

Re: Car stalled on freeway last night WTF?

Okay, i don't have this issue yet cause i haven't try to put in neutral after high revving. But i would like to know if this is a problem with Nismo intake.

1) Coupe
2) 6mt
3) Have Nismo not Injen
4) yes
5) yes

Can someone help answer this question? will the stalling occur as stated above condition with Nismo Intake?

Sorry dragon, i didn't mean to high jack your post. I just want to know if Nismo intake cause the same problem as the Injen intake.

TIA

Well you were NOT suppose to remove the foam in the front bumper.. There are threads on here explaining that all you have to do is shave down the foam just enough so that the filter will fit..

As this would prevent the stalling problem...

Re: Car stalled on freeway last night WTF?

I see the comment about not removing the Foam. I have been searching for over an hour for info on the Injen install. I have a 1992 I am about to install in my coupe. if anyone could point me to a thread with info, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank You,
Jay

The RX has left the building, I have been driving the G for about 6 weeks!!!!

Re: Car stalled on freeway last night WTF?

Okay I finally got around to shaving and returning the foam insert in front of the cone of my intake. Right now I'm resetting the ECU overnight for six hours as the Injen Technician told me to. Tomorrow morning I'll gun my car again to see if this works. I'm praying that this will do the trick. I don't want to have to buy a new intake...lol. Sucks when your car stalls...lol. Kinda embarrassing...lol.
