leopard spotted glass

just curious if any of your glass has spotted. i live in phoenix, and figured it may be heat related, but both sides, and the rear window are starting to have a spot pattern on them. not really sure the best way to describe it.. i'll get pics up tomorrow when the sun is up.

Post some pics, I'd like to see, but yeah, my guess is that you're seeing the factory tint. It's especially noticable in rear windows, and esp on BMW's.

I got in my car today with my regular glasses and looked to see how bad it was showing up today... didn't really notice it. I put on my polarized sunglasses, and it was all over the place. Weird.

I'll snap some shots when I get home, but I'm not sure how well it'd show up. Maybe I'll put my shades in front to see if it brings it out better.

I only have factory tint at the moment, but was looking to get more tint... and this is why I was actually asking the question in the first place. If the glass was defective or something could I get it replaced, before I put fresh tint on it.

My 06 coupe with OEM tint had the same spots.
Now with my Huper Optiks, the spotting is gone.

yeah it's weird, i can't really capture it with a camera.

oh well, sounds like it is normal, and should go away or be minimized with the addition of tint.

thanks for the input everyone.

I know exactly what your talkin about, its the UV coating on the windows. If you put on polarized shades or glasses, you will be able to clearly see the dots, but its on mostly all newer cars.

Other windows don't have laminated safety glass like the front windshield.
They use tempered glass. With polarized glasses you can usually see the spots which are from the tempering process. Tinting may block you from seeing it clearly.

It's your tint job. There are only a few windows which are ideal for a climate like AZ to tint your windows and have it come out perfectly. I saw plenty cars when I was at the U of A with the same problem you are describing.
