Mrev2 or Stillen Intake with Ztube

Hey guys Before you go crazy and say Mrev2 which is obviously the better mod. Im looking for a mod to make the car sound sick rather then perform. I can get stillin with ztube installed for 250 vs the mrev2 for 450. Does the Mrev2 make the engine sound sick just like if I where to get an intake or not? your opinions would sure be appreciate it. Imma go with whatever you guys say. Im down with extra ponies from the mrev2 vs the stillen but which one makes a nicer sound? Also about how many extra WHP/Torque does the mrev2add normally?

...Thanks.

I have the z_tube but no Stillen intake, but just did the Mrev2 last Saturday nite, and I highly recommend it.

Z_tube definitely give off a good sound, not too loud either. A nice bark @ WOT. I can imagine the Stillen intake enhance it even more. Since you're looking for the sound, I go with those.

As for Mrev2, the sound is completely stock @ idle. But when you open her up around 3000-3500 rpm, you know something is different. The best way I can discribe the sound is it almost sounds like a turbo, all the way to redline. You know that suction sound, just not as loud. At least from the cockpit, and then your car get a nice bump in HP and the G take off.

As for HP, haven't done any dyno personally. Use search, there's a few chart floating around. Plenum mod is butt-dyno approved.

BTW, Tony @ MD is a great guy to deal with. Took a trip to his shop to pick up the plenum, nice shop w/lots of cool toys.

straight up... an intake is an intake after you remove our "power reducer".... you want to pay $200 for a piece of plastic? just get the z tube and an K&N filter. same exact thing minus the restrictive housing... all for under $100

By saying MREV2, you mean the JUST spacer....correct?

People like to say MREV2 and mean that they replaced the lower plenum with a Motordyne piece, a modified version of the 05-06 lower plenum, right?

1- KnN sucks (def better to spend a little more and get a real intake filter)

2- mRev over intake and Z tube

Those open element K&N is terrible under hood, hot air is bad. You can look forward to loosing HP. Drop in OEM-style is your best bet, get 'em at local autoparts store for around $40.

KnN sucking is just from my experience with them...

couldn't really tell while using them but after i switched it out to Apexi (cone type) the Apexi filter sucks so much more air, my car breaths a hellofalot better now
