Listed price on Mobile1 would be around $7-8 a pop plus filter labor and waste charges $125 is reasonable

Recomendations. Try to use BG products. Even though it's expensive, it
My 3-series takes 5.5 quarts. Perhaps the series after the 1995+ series (E46, E36, I don't know the diff :-P just the years & body style) took more.

The place I have taken my car for the last 8+ years isn't cheap, but they are cheaper than a dealer. I wish that they worked on Infinitis. The reason I go there is that they are VERY honest with you about everything. My oil changes, with Mobil1 are between $60-$65. For regular BMW brand oil, around $50. Yes, thats a lot more than your neighborhod Jiffy Lube, but if you go to Jify Lube and bring your own case of Mobil1 that you paid $25 for, they won't discount you the oil and you end up paying $50 total anyway.

Wal-Mart auto service centers will actually do Mobil1 oil changes for $35!!!! I can't get the BMW done there because they don't carry the filter, and wont allow you to bring one and cant order one for you :-(

Only electrical problems that I have really heard of with aNY consistancy from that series BMW have been window motors, door locks sticking (still work with the key though) & vanity mirror lights. Individual cars will have individual problems, of course.

Call me a n00b... what are BG products?

Therefore they spell it with a "C" which comes before the the "K" in the alphabet. Does that mean that since I am "T"aiwanese, that I just lost the asian ethnicity race to be first? LOL
YEA.... KP!!!!

I run a auto shop I would probably know about car more then half the people in this forum. Decade ago I would of said HYUNDAI was a POS but right now I see it better then half cars in the market. To know a car, car must be driven, it would tell you how it rides , feels , and what it's capable of.
10 years time: Top 4 carmakers' sales in US:

1. Toyota/ Lexus
2. Hyundai/ Their yet-to-be-launched luxury brand
3. Nissan/ Infiniti
4. Honda/ Acura

As for the former big-3, who do you guys think will still be around let alone American? One's already German, after all.

Especially since that "G35 killer" will probably be 60 to 75% of the list price that the G will be.

From what I remember, everyone loves the G, because of what? Oh yea, it's such a bang for the buck compared to a what? Oh yeah, Bimmers. Come on just because Hyundai's are cheaper in most respect to the G doesn't mean that the company isn't advancing. Come to think of it, this thread sounds a lot like the Bimmer forums do. Go figure.
^^^^ +100000

didnt sit around & read the 8+ pages of comments but went thru a few & first off yea most of u guys sound really arrogant like the G is a Ferrari or Lambo or somethin.
all car companies know now more HP = more sales
I dont doubt Hyundai will make a car faster or a better bang for buck than the G
lets think ....back in 99 if someone said Dodge has a new Neon coming out in a few yrs, its really fast, matter of fact its faster than a Type-R integra u woulda laughed ur a$$ off correct? ...then comes the SRT-4 ...think about it
the cons ...I do feel no matter how fast or good looking of a car Hyundai makes ...most of them will never make it to see 100k miles before the engine dies & thats real!!

question of the day ....who's ever seen a Hyundai with 200k miles on it better yet 150k on it

SOOOO TRUE! You made and excellent point!

And as for the G community coming off arrogant, like the G is a Ferrari... the way I personally look at it... its not that the progession of cars is eventually going to catch up and pass us by... but the fact that its a Hyundai! Thats just barely half a step up over a daewoo! lol. I will hate the day that this becomes a reality... but at the same time, aplaud Hyundai for stepping it up in such a huge way.

I've been in a hyundai with 160k miles and it was stock engine. He just did good maintenance and it drove like a champ. Also, many taxies in korea has over 100k running strong.

Up until 98 or 99, they used mitsubishi drivetrains. Now they use their own.

'Nuff said there.

20 years ago, if you had told anyone that the company that makes this:

Would make a car like this, that targets high-end benzes

You would have been laughed out of the room.

History repeats itself all the time, so don't be so quick to write off a potential competitor. The ones who do that are the ones that get surpassed...right mercedes?

not really, it was aimed as a cheaper faster WRX, unless your talking speed then it is. hell a stupid srt-4 stage 3 (the 350hp one on race gas) was killing me on the straights at summit point a few weeks ago and doing just fine on the twistys, the only thing holding him back was his brakes and skinny tires. And I drive a CTS-V, and it's kind of fast it's self.
