resetting the ecu?

hey guys..is it true that you need to reset the ecu after you do an engime mod like exhuast, plenum etc? so the car can adjust to the new changes?

like i have a kinetix SSV, should i reset the ecu to get the car to adjust to the new air ratio?

ive heard that manifold really leans out the engine. If you get it tuned, i put money that you will get more out of your car.

short answer is yes. best thing to do is get it tuned after you're done with all your engine mods. or get a technosquare reflash or something similar.

Just doing an ECU reset has no effect since the stock maps can only accomodate very small flow modifications. All a reset does is clear any faults and return the "learned" parameters to default to start learning again. But once the stock fuel and timing maps are maxed out, that's it. And you will probably be lean.

I was in the low-mid 14's A/F prior to reflash. Adding 8% more fuel made a huge difference and allows more timing advance since it has less potential for ping when you richen up. If you're sure you're done with your mods, reflash is usually the lowest cost option.

Not really. When you consider that it optimizes the mods you already have. On my car, it was worth every cent.
