im 16 and have an 04 coupe got it a few months ago. A car never can have too much power but you need to respect it. I already made the mistake of sliding around a stop sign i corrected but was on the gas really hard just trying to have fun. i spun out no big deal but it just showed me that if there was a car there o i was going alittle faster it could have been bad. you should be fine just respect the car and if you wana have fun go to an open track day.

my opinion, take it or leave it, is that the majority of kids are going to wreck their first car, and personally, I wouldnt want it to be a 20,000 dollar vehicle.

I have yet to put a scratch on anything (even rims), or get a single non-parking ticket and I am 20

I did start with an '01 civic to learn though and just bought my G 2 weeks ago for cash.

My first car was Peugot 505...if you guys heard of it and know what it is...slow as ***** but torque out the ***...my dad had both the diesel and gas versions...than a continental...and than i bought my own car...a 91 Jetta.

O yeah..make sure the kids pay for it!

I'm 21 now and picking up a g35 coupe this summer, but I am very happy I got a cheaper car when I was younger. I got a 03 civic coupe when I was 17-18 and am glad I spent the next 3 years learning and making my mistakes on that thing, consider also I live in nyc which isn't the easiest place to learn/drive... all the wait will make getting G now much better, I also couldn't imagine paying insurance for a G at such a young age

using the words sixteen and mature in the same sentence is what they call an oxymoron.

Their is never too much power for any age. It depends on the driver. If you can drive and are responsible enough than it is definately not too much. I know/see some 30,40,50+ aged people who can't even drive a 200HP car. I agree with the showoff mentality as stated above. Most 16 year olds will want to show off. But that is only because they have no respect for a)themselves, B) other, c) cars. I am 17 and can not figure it out for the life of me why people have to speed through a parking lot full with kids. Why, please tell me if you know.

I would recomend taking a defensive driving course or something like that. I have my fair share of track lessons and courses. I am 17 like stated above and have driven cars with more HP than most people see in their life. Why, because I am responsible and show that I am considerate.

But all in all a G does not have to much power, no car has to much power. It is all in the driver.

My 1st car was an 91 escort at 18 then at 19 I bought myself a 03 G sedan and then at 20 I went to a 05 G coupe. Ive never had a problem. Since I have to pay for it on my own steam, I value my car a lot more

I cannot agree with you more. i personally think they should up the driving age to 18. Yea yea, i know i am 17 and saying this but i cannot tell you how many 16 year olds(Some who are my friends) are to imature to drive. But their is a small percentage of people like myself who enjoy cars and are responsible. It's a shame they ruin it for people like me.

Thats the problem with most people. Mommy and daddy pick them up after all their mistakes and pay for everything so no one learns. I think this is hurting people these days with problem solving. No one can do anything their selves. People do not appreciate anything because they have the mentality of "I did not pay for it so I don't care".

+1. Way to many dumbasses out there.

I see tons of that crap at my school. Except one kid, with a 400whp Trans Am WS6. Thing is modded to sh**. I have never ONCE seen him floor it. He just cruises around.
