I agree. Only 91 here and imo is borderline acceptable for the revup 298hp VQ. Thanx for all the behind-the-scenes help in what to look for in my readings

Also the EGR solinoid could be stuck open..The gas thing did not work for me either tried 4 different stations and even octane boost, TB clean and injector cleaner. Zip.. The only thing other than the O2's were the ECU..
Thanx. That's what I'm going to look for on the 02's. Yup, no CEL either, though curious if I might have a stored DTC.
Found out the revup VQ's do not have EGR's. When they went to variable exhaust timing, they dropped the EGR system. Another tech on here confirmed too, no EGR on my type of VQ.

I'm in South Dakota. I sometimes ping with temps as low as 50 degrees. Below that, it's usually gone.

Just a quick question to anyone who knows. I need to change the spark plugs in my 04 G35 coupe and i wanted to know what type of spark plugs have worked the best for best performance. Also what is the proper gapping.

^ Don't know. Haven't played around with different plugs to know different. Mine have NKG platinums, I know that.
Gap...need to look in my 06 service manual. BRB after my knock/ping update post...

-edit-
Gap is 1.1mm or 0.043in

Update

Some of my A/F % numbers were like 118...128 under load while pinging. Way too high. Cipher logs were done when ambient temps mid/upper 70's F, ~106F intake air temp and driven after VQ had sat becoming heat-soaked. Coolant temp ~210F and dropping to normal 201F while driving. That was awhile ago, sorry for the late update.

02's are fine. No stored DTC's. No MIL's. No warranty fix for me.

Ambient temps colder now (~47F and lower). Seems no ping even when I try to make it ping. Need to do more data logging at these cold temps and compare what's different, if anything. Have a hunch they won't be though.

AFR's are lean like my old dyno pulls proved. Bet that's due to my cookie cutter factory ecu tune that needs to meet Cali ULEV II or LEV II emission standards. Can't remember which standard was in force for year 2006.

Warm to hot intake air temp seems to be just enough to throw this lean tune into low rpm detonation under light load on my revup VQ. So special, thanks Nissan/Infiniti. The oil consumption with these weren't enough eh

Anyone hear of the higher hp VQ35HR and VQ37VHR ping? I haven't. Think Nissan/Infiniti did a much better factory ECU tune on those than on my VQ35DE revup.

All for now.
