S2000 - Got Dusted!!!
Twice!!!
The S2000 driver is rocking his car back and forward to challenge me. I switch to MM mode- the light turns green and even with VDC on, it wasn't even close.. Immediately I'm ahead by almost a carlength. At 60 MPH He's almost 4 carlengths behind me.
The next light he rolls down the windon and says: "I'm ready for you this time... I say OK. He says: I didn't know those cars were that quick. I respond: Yeah they are pretty quick. Some guy in a truck behind him is egging us on by reving his engine. The light turns green and this time was worst for him than the last time because I turned off the VDC (WOW it made a significant difference). Off the line wasn't even remotely close.

I got spanked by an S2000 =(
I was the one 4 cars back.
It was in the 1/4 mile Dude droped his clutch at a high rev.
He jumpped out off the line, I was surprised and hesitated so he was 3 cars off the line. Couldn't catch up =(
the person must have not known how to drive their S2000, those suckers are quick.

He did not drop his clutch from very high- none-the-less it didn't matter... a win is a win... If I wanted to rag out my car to equalize someone dropping their clutch from 4000 RPM, that would be my choice. If I lost simply because I did not do so... then a loss is a loss is a loss.

Re: S2000 - Got Dusted!!!
do you have manual?
if you do.. that means it was totally drivers race.
If you had the auto that guy didn't have the exp/skills to win.
however you drive a manual you did win because of your skill..
S2000 can be fast... might be little bit faster than our car... but nice kill

Re: S2000 - Got Dusted!!!
The fact of the matter is that it is much easier to get power out of the G engine than some other cars in it's performance class (i.e. RX8 and S2000) Thus our cars are much more practical for sporty driving in and around city streets. Who really drops their clutch from 4000 plus RPM all the time... The G is much more efficient at reaching its potential. My thought is that most of us G-owners feel that we've care and paid too much for our vehicle to rag it out.

Re: S2000 - Got Dusted!!!
S2000s aren't that quick and they have to launch at 4000RPM or above because that's when VTEC kicks in...Stock S2000s get smoked all day by Zs, so dusting one in a G shouldn't be a challenge...It's a Honda motor- where'd they get their engine building expertise early on? Motorcycles...Hence, the high-rev to utilize VTEC...If you weren't ripping stock S2000s something'd be wrong...Good kill

You're right, it is much easier to get the power out of the G. When the S2000s first came out, one of the car mags did a test and they realized if you shifted at 5k it almost doubled the 1/4 mile times. So basically all of the power is in the 6-9k range and not many drivers are going to take it that high on a regular basis.

Re: S2000 - Got Dusted!!!
i believe s2k will run around 13.9 at best(it means drop in clutch at 5k or above) and most people won't get the best time... even though they do, it can't be done at streets and get best time everytime... most s2k drivers will hit around 14.3 and up... and g is runs around there too... no surprise to see g wins or s2k wins either...
