I bought a greddy evo 2 from a guy it didnt come with a y-pipe. I've seen pics with the y pipe and I'm wondering if the shop he had take it off forgot to take it off. Does anyone have it installed without the y pipe. One question are the stock cats before of after the mid pipe?

 

You got taken buddy that exhaust is useless without the y pipe. Stock cats are before the y pipe.

 

The midpipe is another word for cats.

what cats are not the same things as a midpipe...

to the original poster...the stock exhaust goes like this...

cats...ypipe...midpipe...muffler

 

So the air travels from the intake, to your engine plenum, to your cylenders, out your headers, through your cats (or test pipes/midpipe) through your X pipe, straight pipes, H pipe, or Y pipe, through your axle back mufflers and out the exhaust =D

no...the midpipe goes in the middle...between the ypipe and muffler...

test pipes = straight pipes = race pipes but none of these are midpipes

 

There is a mid pipe before the exhaust and after the y-pipe on the coupe.

 

whheehhhh got the y-pipe, the shop has it, I was a dumb *** and it was late when I picked it up and forgot to check. Glad it worked out...picked up an injen cai and greddy evo 2 for $400 off of a show car...may get the maya rt5 20" for $2000 what do you guys think?
