Maf cleaner- engine lights come on
Maf cleaner- engine lights come on
I was cleaning the MAF and the K&N air filter today for about two hours.
After i installed the maf and the air filter, i went and start the car the engine lights and the slip came on. I look at the maf to see if i plug in the harness, which i did. I am not sure why the engine lights is on.
any help is greatly appreciated.

you may have flooded the sensor... take it out and CAREFULLY run some air through it with a hair dryer. reconnect it, do an ecu reset, and you should be good to go... sounds like you overoiled...
Make sure you put the MAF in the right way....and you didnt reverse it! If your cleaning the MAF the spray dries in seconds so its most likely its not that. You might want to check your air filter. If its a K&N make sure that you oiled it up properly and that its not completely dry.
The hole on the MAF should be towards the front of your car.

i did checked the maf and it seem to be correctly installed. also the MAF cleaner dries in second so its not that. i did spray the K&N filter with enough oil so its not that. would it be ok driving with the engine light on?
I have to take it to the dealer on wednesday.

Take a look at the actual sensor coming out of the maf, they are very fragile and may have been damaged. Check to see if its bent, if everything looks good i'd try an ecu reset (12 hour battery disconnect) and see if the light comes back .
when you had your maf sensor unplugged did you have the keys in the ignition? it could be that when you had it off the ecu didnt see the sensor and when it was plugged in again it assumes the maf was still gone.

this is why it's a bad idea to remove the sensor for its housing. just spray it in the tube that it's in. unplug the battery if you're not sure.
try resetting your ECU to fix it.

Update guys:
Is amazing what this car did to me. I took it to the dealer on Wednesday Night to drop it off and when i got the the dealer lot the check engine light disappear.
I am very confused and i had told the dealer what had happen but they duplicate any issue or issue with the exhaust or the maf.
Good thing i took it to the dealer, they replaced my window regulator for free and a wash.
If anyone want to clean the MAF than they should wait until its get dirty. I clean/wash my airfilter about every 10k. I don't even see any difference in acceleration. So my advice to you is if you don't see any dirt in your MAF, DON"T clean it.
Only clean it when its dirty.
FYI:
Also I always take out my battery and the keys when i work on my car.
