veil of invincibility...i did stupid crap in my WRX but i just thought i'd be fine cause of the AWD. nothing happened but looking back I was dumb. Be careful and for me..its all about the acceleration..not top speed. Most pieces of crap can go 100+, its just a matter of how fast it can get there. Faster you go, faster dumb sht happens. g/l

ouch!!! careful kid. I did almost the same when i was a teen in my first car (rusted *** ford taurus) and the front bumper came off and front suspension got messed up. Still drove it in that state for a year after until it died (it was a ford after all)

There's no damn way he hit a speed bump at 120 and had much left of a car. Does anybody else remember the lambo that hit the speed bump at probably 100mph? That car was completely destroyed. Not to mention where the hell could you get up to 120mph where there would be a speed bump in the road?

I did the same sort of thing in my first car a 1980 Chevy Malibu. I hit this road fast (on purpose) to hit a spot where the road took a sharp incline then went right into a flat straight away. I had hit it many times at lower speeds and never really got air but this time I thought I'd go just a little faster, about 30mph faster. Let me tell you it is hard to get a car that heavy in the air but I managed to get about 3 1/2 - 4ft up (at night) as I'm peeing myself I notice there is car in the other lane going the opposite direction, I didn't see it before I went airborne. I look over mid-flight to see the light bar of a police car zip past my window, landed to a huge shower of sparks, bounces, things flying around in my car, etc. I then decided I was dead meat of the cop caught me so I floored it, zipped through some neighborhoods and parked in someones driveway for the next 2 hours.

It was like 2am and I was in the air so I figured the cop probably couldn't tell what kind of car it was, unless he knew the undercarrige lol. I've done dumb things in my life but this was up pretty high, I never did it again after thinking about all the things that could have happened. Either way, even that heavy monster was fine. That was 15 - 16 years ago and she's still sitting in my driveway ready to go at a moments notice! I don't jump her anymore though.
