Re: Top Five Shortcomings

1. No memory seat and power recline. I guess I just think a car like this should have the memory function. I certainly can use it since I'll be letting my wife drive it some of the times. Also, the lack of power recline for the driver is puzzling. My old Accord coupe has power recline AND a manual latch to move the seat back for rear entrance. Can't Nissan figure out how to make one like that?

2. No rear windshield wiper. The Z has it, why doesn't the G? I could really use it during rainly days such as yesturday.

3. More scratch resistant center console. The titanium finish on the center console feels way too easily scratched. It should have at least had a clear coat like the titanium inserts on the doors.

4. Gas mileage. They should improve it somehow, but I guess that's not a huge deal.

5. Nav should have a touch screen. I guess I'm just afraid that I'll wear out the joystick too quickly.

Although I've listed the above shortcomings, I still love this car very much. Its good far outweighs the bad in my opinion.

1. Hard to get into the back seat.
X-> Buy a G35 Sedan.
--> Who cares, I'm driving.

2. Not much trunk space.
X-> Buy a G35 Sedan.
--> Fold down the rear seats... after all, it's too hard for people to get back there anyways right?

3. Lacks full memory/power seat controls.
X-> Buy a G35 Sedan.
--> Who cares about memory seats, no one else is touching my car.

4. Can't rotate the tires.
X-> Buy a G35 Sedan.
--> I thought rotating tires only helps treat life if you MUST replace all 4 tires at a time?

5. Can't fit a childseat in the center rear position.
X-> Buy a G35 Sedan.
--> Birth control. (no no, I love children too, but I'm 22 so right now kids aren't exactly on my mind)

and yeah, I'm just kidding too =)

Twlight blue/Willow 6mt on order. Options: Sunroof.

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

Well, I have 2 kids, and one of them is 3 months old.. so I have a Sedan. As for the seats, well, you get married and then tell your wife she can't drive your car.

As for tire life, you should at least replace in pairs. RWD cars wear out the rear tires faster, and rotating helps them wear evenly. Not a concern in a coupe, where the tires are different sizes anyway. But, since I want to dump my Turanza's and get better rubber, I kinda need to replace all 4 at once when the time comes.

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

I have two kids also, 6 and 3. I take them to school every day in my coupe, without any issues whatsoever. The sedans are very nice cars; actually I'm driving one right now while I'm getting a TSB done. A friend of mine who drives a WRX helped me pick up a refrigerated truck, and drove the sedan about 30 miles for me. He was impressed with the acceleration among other things.

However, they just look too much like every other sedan out there for me: BMW, Civic, Camry, G35, Audi, Corolla, Passat, bleh, they all look the same, nice, but basically the same. The coupe looks a bit like the Lexus SC430, but nothing else even comes close.

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

1) VDC, I hate this damn thing. Give it its own damn fuse or something so I can just pull it.

2) The shifter... I have been driving MT for a LONG time and with this car, I keep hitting 3rd instead of 5th when driving hard. I have heard it is a known problem but I hope a short shift kit (when available) will fix this.

3) The interier trim (Titanium in my case) is junk. It even looks like crap. And I have no idea what to do about it. Maybe having it clear coated is the answer.

4) The F-ing radio and A/C controls being integrated. How freaking stupid is that.

5) The fact things are available from Nissan in Japan that Infiniti here can't get...like the double din dash kit.

Well, thats all I could think of. Just annoyed that some of them good have been prevented with like half an ounce of thought by the higher ups.

Mine has 3, I thought they all did.

1. Only holds 3 chicks comfortably.
======>takes girls for shorter rides so the others don't have to wait so long.
2. Seat belt not being tension adjustable, always wrinkles my work shirts.

3. Seat memory thing, rather lack of it
======>c'mon Nissan, wake up.
4. People complaining about their G35's.
======>have them check out comparable equipped cars and then price them.
5. Lack of rear wiper?
======>try Rain-X

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

I only have three serious complaints, and some minor nitpicks:

1. Low quality dash trim. Especially with the "titanium." It's embarassing.

2. Center console is set up for driver on the right side of vehicle, not left. I don't think this was a good place to save a few bucks in production by using the Japanese dash.

3. Why are these cars so heavy? Even the Z gets over 3100 pounds.

4. I don't like the color of the dash lights.

5. I agree with the person who doesn't like putting his hand on the trunk to close it. Must drive a black G like mine. The best I can come up with is pressing on the Infiniti logo, but it always feels like it's about to pull off. This is why I LIKE the lack of boosters under the hood. Just let it drop, no fingerprints.

Stuff I'm glad the car is missing because I didn't have to pay for it:

1. Memory seats: useless for someone like me who never lets anyone else drive and always puts the seat all the way back and all the way down.

2. Rear wiper. I've never seen the need for it on any car.

3. More electric seat motors: First time I drive, I get the seat where I want it. Done. After that, I'm just lugging around a bunch of motors for no reason, or worse, waiting an eternity for the passenger seat motor to move it forward enough to let someone out. Maybe I can transplant the motor from my seat to the NAV screen, and get the Dr. Evil effect.
