That's not bad. I believe '03-'04 G coupes' base weight is 3435lbs. Yes, gas weights a lot. If you had 1/8 of a gas in the tank you'll shave another 40-50lbs.
Most definitely you can get it down to 3300lbs. Your G now weighs slightly above a Z. Actually, it probably weighs about the same as a touring Z.
I considered a RX-8 and a S2000 before I bought my G. Correct me if I'm wrong, but each one weighs around 3000-3100lbs depending on how many options you have on it.
Stock for stock, handling is better on the S2000. However performance is the same because on MT,RoadandTrack, and CarandDriver, 0-60 for a G and S2000 is 5.7-6.0 . It's definitely a drivers race.
However due to its unique design, rear seat, and exhaust note buying a G was an easy decision.
