Re: Please help me decide!

I'm another one that faced this dilemma. It's not as crazy as one might think, considering that both are at same or similar price points, and both represent incredible bargains when compared with the competition in their respective classes.

I thought I needed a 4 door that seats 5, because I have family and clients to haul around. I then realized that I couldn't remember the last time I carried my family in my own car (we have my wife's Odyssey for that), or the last time I had to carry more than 1 or 2 passengers on business. The clincher was when I asked my wife for her opinion. She said the TL made me look mature and conservative with all of the negative connotations that go with it. Time to check my pulse.

Re: Please help me decide!

YOU have to decide. True.

But think of it this way. You want a two door sports car with a touch of class and a pair of backseats. Pick the coupe.

You want a pimp *ss performance 4 door. Pick the sedan.

You want performance WITH nice interior. Pick the TL.

Re: Please help me decide!

I went through a similar decision process a few months ago when I was deciding between buying the G35Coup and a 350Z. My girlfriend was leaning towards the splashy styling of the Z and I liked the more sophisticated look of the G.

Then one day we were at the car wash, sitting in my Acura RSX. Ahead of us was a 350Z. Then a G35Coup pulled up behind us in line. So I got out and started looking at both cars. But I couldn't help notice the drivers. The driver of the Z was mid 30's, balding but with frosted 'guy-lites', wearing the tackiest club wear and a fake gold Rolex that was so heavy he could hardly keep his flashing blue and pink cel phone up to his ear. The driver of the G was mid 40's, wearing a nice Italian suite with overcoat and had on slick, understated designer sunglasses. He looked like an FBI agent from the X-Files.

That pretty much made my decision for me, right then and there.

Re: Please help me decide!

If it was between the G sedan and TL, I'd pick the TL unless I REALLY wanted an all wheel drive car.
If it's between the G coupe and the TL, I would not even think twice about it and go for the G coupe. The TL's hi-tech features are nice but I think a loaded G has pretty much all you'd really need.
Imagine yourself in one of these:

Then imagine yourself in a G coupe. If you are still unconvinced about the G coupe, then get the TL.

Re: Please help me decide!

there is no real comparison. first you have to decide do i want a coupe or a sedan? if coupe your choices are: g35c, bmw 330(coupe), rx8, z350. If sedan :TL, saab 93, g35s, bmw 330(sedan), A4. i personally never liked the g35 sedan. the TL is hot, the saab with all the fixings is a very good looking car. in short to me coupe: g35, sedan: TL simple!

don't start no sh*t, won't be no sh*t!

Re: Please help me decide!

oops, i was referring to the comparison made between the G coupe and ferarri scaglietti (a different thread).

LOL the G sedan & TL comparison was just me playing around with coldfusion (sorry for taking it off topic). the original poster's dilemma is TL versus G coupe and not any other choices.
