Cause you can still shift it into drive so you dont have to worry about clutching in traffic and things like that. Thats why I got the 5AT

there's not really an rpm you can tap the shifter at, it's all in your ability to estimate the lag, might as well just leave it in d although i agree it seems to have a little more oomph in tiptronic

Our cars do not have a "Tiptronic" transmission. They have a "Tiptronic" like transmission.

Repeat after me...

Tiptronic® is a registered trademark, and it is owned by German sports car maker Porsche, who licenses it for use by others such as Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda.

Other manufacturers use Tiptronic-like systems under different names:

Acura: Sequential SportShift
Audi: Tiptronic, Multitronic (CVT)
BMW: Steptronic
Chrysler/Dodge: AutoStick
Citroën: Sensodrive
Ford (Australia): Sequential Sports Shift
Honda: iShift, S-matic, MultiMatic
Hyundai: Shiftronic, H-Matic
Infiniti: Manual Shift Mode
Jaguar: Bosch® Mechatronic
Lexus: E-Shift
Mazda: Sport AT
Mercedes-Benz: TouchShift
MG-Rover: Steptronic
Mitsubishi: INVECS, INVECS II, Sportronic, Tiptronic
Nissan: Tiptronic
Vauxhall/Opel: Easytronic
Peugeot: 2Tronic
Pontiac: TAPshift
Saab : Sentronic
Subaru: Sportshift (system developed and name used under license from Prodrive Ltd.)
Smart : Softip
Volkswagen : Tiptronic
Volvo: Geartronic

Glad this is cleared up.

John

Haha! Not to dickfor you too much, but after your rant, you could have at least put the correct names for the nissan/infiniti ones. I mean, didn't you JUST get through telling us that nissan wasn't tiptronic? Better edit that quick!
ie "manual shift mode..."for infiniti and "manual shift mode..."

But, like Ahero said, don't get your balloon not in a cramp because midwesterners call all sodas/pops/sodapops/softdrinks "cokes."

sheesh

I ran a 14.6 in d and a 14.1 in tip.

That says it all!
