Bah! Thats what i get for mentioning a random car I shouldn't have said Corvette, should have said Tiburon or something....my point was skewed a little with the Covette reference, just replace "Corvette" with "Tiburon" and see if thats any better.

My point (and other peoples too) was that not everyone is an enthusiast, and like many poeple have mentioned before some people just buy the car for various reasons, not because of it's cult status (as seen on this forum and FA).

I can't emphasize enough how you shouldn't belittle people for not responding to you.

There are TONS of reasons why someone might give you the cold shoulder. Don't start talking trash about them because you might be that person that ignores another G driver one day, and end up the butt-end of a forum post.

Besides Tiburon is a bad example, those are [censored] cars. At least the Corvette has some power and style.

KEEP IN MIND, I posted this because the guy caught up to me. Then he looked over. I smiled & gave him a thumb up. Then be frowned and acc. off at 75mph plus. Then got in front as he drove off.....
People should be nice no matter what.........

I'm a little north of you....in middlesex county...but originaly from bergen county area....
I've owned many Corvettes....and they all will show some sort of interest in another Corvette owner...usually just a wave of the hand or a nod...

I truly believe this car does not have the avid following of say the Corvette owners...
we all may be completely **** about it but I'll say it again...most of the people I see just are going about their daily business....our passion for the car is exactly that..."OUR" passion....but that won't stop me from acknowledging any one I see in a G...coupe or sedan...I just have to look..... and believe me, at my age I could get in big trouble if it happens to be a young girl......

As far as all the rest of the Infiniti owners out there....Lighten Up!!!! I honestly don't think respond to someone who's driving the same care as you is an "enthusiast" thing, but more of a MANLY thing. A stereotypical male is into cars, but that's the key word.

It could also be the jealous neighbor type crap. "Oh no, not another person w/a G, damnit! I must prove I'm bigger and better than them." I am not like this, however I was a little preturbed when I saw how many G coupes actually lived near me. I didn't think there would be an abundant amount.

Who knows. I normally just raise my hand up, and as I've said in another post, I have tons of G coupes in my area, and only 1 black G ever responded back. The rest just either ignore me, or give me a dumbfounded look. Most of them are young drivers my age (24). I even got stopped by a cop today for doing 30 in a 25...."is this your car?"...."yes it is."....."we were monitoring you by radar down the hill, just slow it down."

I don't think anything bad of the people who do not respond. It would be cool to get a response, but oh well.

With so many Gs in northern NJ, someone should start a club or something.

As for smiles/waves- I just try to be a courteous, decent human being. If someone smiles/waves and I see it and am not feeling like absolute hell, I'll acknowledge it. I don't why I wouldn't, even if I were pi$$ed off... it'd make me feel better.

It takes a second out of what I'm doing, and makes someone else smile. Not acknowledging, however, gives me back that second... but makes the other person feel like a schmuck. Holding up my nose and pretending I don't see them makes ME feel like a schmuck. And finally, to those who DO stick your noses up: It's a freaking G, get over yourselves. It's an entry-level luxury/sports car, not a Vanquish. Drop the attitude.

I'd also like to add upainted body-kits to that definition, as they are extremely tacky and show that you barely scrounged up enough money to buy the kit, but not enough to get it painted.

But getting back to my point:

Rice was in NO WAY used a racist term by me, I'm sorry if you perceived it that way. I have never known rice to be a racist term, and have never used it in that manner.
