Re: wet windows after washing

Hmm I wonder if any of the door components will go rotten in time ... or essentially faster... not that I will have the car by the time it goes rotten .. but hey ..you never know.

I wonder ...

Guess were gonna have to carry around some TP or a shammy to give her a wipin ever now and then... but thats just not good in my opinion.

Re: wet windows after washing

It is just the weather stripping doing its' job. All cars will do it unless 1) you live in the desert where the humidity is 10 % or 2) you live where it is cold and the window will freeze closed during the night. (There was a post here about that happening to a poster's coupe.)

Anytime you wash a car at night (late afternoon) and put it in the garage (or leave outside depending on weather conditions) when you drive off in the morning and put the window down and right back up the wet weather stripping will leave some water on the outside of your window. During the summer months I would wash my cars after 7:30 PM and the next morning when I lowered/raised the window water would be on the outside. I think this is nothing to worry about.

well said. If you need more examples...well, our Lexus RX300, and my corolla do the same thing. The wetness only lasts about an hour during the daytime when its sunny, but if you wash at night and leave in the garage, its still going to be wet in the morning, especially in the winter time when temps are near freezing.
