Props from a BMW owner

I was at a pharmacy picking up some medicine, on the way to to opening my car door a guy (looks to be 50 or 60) parked about 3 spots next to me in an old 7 series (2 generations ago) said something like "that's a beautiful car". He then asked if he could take a closer look. He said he has 4 BMWs but thought my G35 looked really good.
Anyway, I've gotten a couple of "nice car" since I got the G last Oct., but this was the first conversation I got into with a stranger about the car. I've read about others posting this sort of experience and now I have one. That's kind of cool.

A car this beautiful can be very intimidating to those who drive the less beautiful cars like BMW, Mercedes and Ferrari. It takes a while for people to work up the confidence to say 'hi, that car owns me'.

Hey guys, I in no way was trying to put down any BMW or other cars. I rather enjoyed talking to the gentleman about my car and that's all I was trying to share.

Re: Props from a BMW owner

A guy in my apartment building in NYC whose partner (they're gay, I'm not) has a beautiful silver '82 BMW 635 CSi, was walking up to the building as I pulled up to double park to unload some stuff from my DG/G 6MT/Aero/Nav coupe. Their 635 is (at least in IMHO) one of the classic BMW coupes of all time. Anyway, he was VERY impressed with the G. He was also quite interested in knowing if the rear seat was dog-friendly since they have a fairly large dog (anyone successfully carrying German Shepherd-sized dogs back there?). He just kept saying over and over what an incredible looking car it was. Coming from a 635 (virtual) owner, I thought that was quite a compliment.

Hm. To me...

The Benz SL55, BMW M3, Ferrari 360 Modena .. are all as beautiful if not more than beautiful than the G35 coupe which is priced at 1/3, 1/2, and 1/4 the prices, respectively.

Re: Props from a BMW owner

I wouldn't say M3 looks better than G35C (style i mean), it basically looks like 3 series with minor differences. But i do admit i'd pick M3 over G35C because of the name and performance though. I wouldn't say G35C looks better than some 80000 plus cars like ferrari, porsche, mercedes, it's really totally different class. Those cars are beautiful, and it's just not fair to compare it with a 30k g35c. However, it's nice to get compliments from BMW owners, because BMW owners usually got some attitude problems, usually they hate to see people who paid less than them but get a much nicer and better looking car.
