Window broken already!!

well, as with every car I've ever owned, the automatic window broke today. Heard a cracking noise then it would not roll up. Did not expect this with an Infiniti. Hopefully I wont have a loaner from the dealership for to long. Anyone else have this problem (yet)?

Re: Window broken already!!

Happened to me. After about 9k miles. On mine the window started going up slower and slower making a chugging waaaaaaarrrrr noise until a few days later it took about 30 seconds to completely come back up. At that point I didn't roll it down anymore and took it to the dealer. They had to replace the motor and actuator or attenuator or something else that starts w/ an "A". Anyways since they've fixed it the window works great (driver's side window) it even goes down the correct 1/4" (same as passenger side) when you open the door (it used to just barely come down, which freaked me out a lot when I would close the door). At any rate since they've fixed it, I now have a nice whistling noise at around 70mph, coming from the seal around the window. I've waited about 3 weeks and I'll probably bring it back in for them to look at it and screw something else up in the process.

Re: Window broken already!!

if they arent giving us revised parts, this will be worse than VWs regulator problems

Yes regulator that's it. Sorry I said it started with an A but it obviously regulator starts w/ an R. Duh!

And you are saying tpware that the regulator they replaced mine with is probably the same, and will probably eventually fail again? Sucks for me...

No, alot of people are having regulator failures in less than a year, mine is starting to act funny at 10 months. And another guy I know is having issues with his too, but not a total failure yet. I HOPE they are giving us a better replacement part, or I do suspect it will only buy you another year. There is really no excuse for it. unless youre VW : /

Don't feel too bad. Owned a POS Corvette and replaced the passenger window motor three times in a year!

Re: Window broken already!!

OK - so, as usual, Pinnacle Infiniti offered the BEST service. Said they'd fix it within one day and gave me a brand new g35 sedan with sattelite radio. Only thing is I told them that the other window is acting up and if they could fix that too but they said I have to wait until it actually breaks. My service guy did mention that the replacement part is NOT the same, so thats good news.

Re: Window broken already!!

Thought it was just a bad luck on my part. My coupe turned a year old last month. The driver side window started to act up 2 days ago. Works fine in the morning, but from lunch time on it would not work at all. I made an appointment to get it fix. My appt is for Monday first thing in the morning. My luck when I get there the window would work normally. Will let you guys know how it goes.

Re: Window broken already!!

Driver window fixed..yeaaa. Was pretty easy process actually. Went to Metro Infiniti in Monrovia, CA. Got there at 7 am, 20 mins later I was out driving an FX loaner. By around noon, they left me a voice mail that the car was done and washed...oh NO! I told them not to was it. Oh well what's done is done. Got the car after work. Everything looked good, window worked as new. Mannn...they sure washed my car and put this crap all over the tyres and wheels that fling out all over the side of the car. The car looks dirtier then when i brought it in.... Oh well, guess have to rewash it this weekend. Hate it when dealer does not listen to you.
