uneven idle
Does anyone have a problem with their coupe and uneven idling? When starting my car, or coming to a stop from driving I can hear the car idle unevenly. I don't know if it's just that I can hear it better than my honda civic, but it has small variations in the idle...does anyone else have the same problem??

Re: uneven idle
Even idle on my 04c AT. My G actually idle just over 120-150 rpm, pretty low but it never stalled. This was after installing 6 grounding wire. Maybe that can help.

Re: uneven idle
My 2004.5 5AT, completely stock, with 1200 miles on it idles smoothly, with no fluctuations, right at 500 RPMs where it should be, with air condition off and engine at operating temps. Yours should do the same. Take it in for service. Could be a sensor, could be a hose, who knows....let them sort it out.

Re: uneven idle
to clarify, my needle is smooth. but I feel loping.. I fought the Nissan dealer about it when I had my maxima, showed receipts for prem gas, new coils/plugs, you name it.. Gave up.
With the GC, I drove some G35S loaners, all felt the same.
BTW, your tach starts at 500, so add whats above the first tick. That puts mine right at 700-ish. Doesnt fluctuate (other than warm vs cold).

Re: uneven idle
Ah, I see what you're saying. It starts at zero but the first tick mark is at 500. Yes, mine starts at 1300 cold and gradually works its way down to 700/750, I stand corrected.
But I feel nothing but smooth idle. No loping, no missing, no fluctuation whatsoever. It's weird that your tach stays smooth and fixed, but you still hear fluctuations.

Re: uneven idle
exactley like an older car might do...It sounds fine 95% of the time, but if you sit there and listen to it it will idle perfectly for 20 seconds and then have a small blip of uneveness for a split second and then it goes back to sounding regular. Think of someone singing a constant note for 30 seconds..in that 30 seconds the person faulters for a split second in their pitch but then continues to hold the tune..I don't know, that's the best way I can descibe it. Just like an older car kinda..The tach does not move at all, I think it would be too small of a variation for the tach to move..
