Stay on "*******" topic, pleeeze.
Actually the PCV system/valve covers causes a VQ to burn oil so it's right up there with a replacement engine.

The VQ37 is the same way.

Check this out on my mothers Murano with 66k miles. Only 6k past the 60k warranty.

Unplugged only one side so the other side could be worse. Oil is leaking in all 3 tubes. 66k miles is bull****.

So i'm about to own a 2004 G35 Coupe Tomorrow, and I was reading through the forums to find what things I should check on my new vehicle, so I ended up in here reading , but since there are so many pages and feel lazy about reading the whole thing I just wanna ask, lets say I found oil after checking my spark plugs, I went ahead and replace the valve covers, is there something I could do to prevent this from happening again ?

Thanks to this forum my 2004 coupe with 68,200 miles is at the dealership now having the valve covers replaced. Cutting it close! I am crossing my fingers that they find something wrong and just give me a full engine swap

Went to do a spark plug change on GF's 03 G35 Coupe, and sure enough, #6 has oil in there and the spark plug was coated in it.

Calling dealer on Monday, as she has an extended warranty on the car.

this is nuts dude. i just bought my 06 and am worried sick now about replacing an engine or plugs and valve covers every 30 - 60k? im at 54500 miles now. my bumper-bumper is up at the end of the month but about to take this bitch back to the dealer and be like i want this checked...

i dont know if by 54000 the previous owner would have had to replace these parts or not but damn. im thinking wow im glad to be away from my bmw and all its gremlins just to see this and all the other sh*& people are saying sux on these cars.

i need to find a buyer quick lol and i havent even made my first payment yet...

Realistically speaking, it should have zero effect on those spark plug tube seals, however, the dealership could still claim that it caused it. Perhaps you drive the car harder in efforts of feeling the extra power and maybe the extra heat would cause them to fail sooner, however, that should still be covered by warranty.. I would take it off to be safe?

Hmm...I also have a plenum spacer so I'll take it off before bringing my car in for warranty work. I also have an aftermarket intake...should I also remove this?
