I have a 06 G35 AT with 45K miles. Smokes like the devil on cranking. Uses a lot of oil. The dealership is playing dumb and saying it's my fault because I haven't had it serviced correctly. Last service they actually replaced the plug in cylinder 2 and didn't tell me, didn't put it on the invoice or report that it was badly fouled. They only admitted it when I mentioned that I had a mechanic replace plug number 2 just to get through emissions testing because the check engine light was flickering on and off.
Could this leakage cause noticable smoke on cranking? I don't see this mentioned in any of the responses here but in my car it is a very disturbing site.

I had mine valve covers replaced on tuesday and they charged me to replace my spark plugs at cost so I paid $81 total for parts. They wanted to charge me for labor but after negotiating they didnt charge me for labor

Sorry not too familiar with engine work, but how do I check the spark plug seal?

PS: If I have a new motor does that mean I have new spark plugs? Meaning I don't have to change it?

So the factory warranty for a 2003 G35 coupe is for 60 or 70k miles?

Read the first post of this thread. I wouldn't assume the plugs are new, just pull them and ckeck their condition.

I'm fairly certain they used the same valve covers so I would say yes, not sure though.

Powertrain warranty is 70K miles, and that warranty covers this issue.

The dealer will not fix it for free since you are out of warranty and it is not a recall or TSB. First, make sure the coil packs are tightly secured. If so, ckeck for the valve cover leak since enough oil in the tube could interfer with the plugs, lastly check the condition of the spark plugs. If none of those work then have the code read and post a thread in the appropriate section.

i have 69,5xx on my car and have an appointment at the dealer monday. I dont know if I even have the leak, but I think its worth it to have them check it out. It would be the last free fix before my warranty is gone forever

i found oil in my plugs.. its pretty bad in one of the holes.. The oil is soaking the tip of the plug.. dont know how it can even spark..
its not misfiring or throwing any codes tho.

What is the long term side effects of letting it drip into the hole..
I dont have the money to replace the valve cover gasket right now..
