I only "beat" my car at the drag strip every so often. No need to do it in the street to get any personal attention. Besides, why should I hurry to class or home, anyway?

True, Im not talking about punching it like your at the track all the time though. My point is that if people on here are purposely trying to stay under 3K rpms that worries me a little. Have some fun with your car, nobody on here wants to here about "Joe's stroll through the park on saturday at 25mph".....

for the most part I drive normal...I only drive about a mile to work each way

sometimes I'll step on it if the area allows for it and I'm by myself but most of the time my daughter or G/F is with me.

well this thread just made me go out and give it a good run... whole bunch of redline and lots and lots of donuts and sideways action!!! ah ( i have the awd fuse out so its full RWD.. in case someone says its an X)... even though it can get sidewys with the awd on ha not really donuts haha...... but yeah i dont really think its bad for it unless you do it every day.. and they are made for harder driving one has to remember that.. its not a buick as someone said earlier... ha

I drive only 2 kms to work and back a day, not really a place to rev the engine, but still, occasionally I step on it to hear the roar.

Also in the parking garage I always roll down the window and go a bit faster than one should just to hear the sound.

Here the speeding is very much controlled with cameras installed at every highway kilometer, and on normal main-ish streets, but no-one stops you from going from 0 to speed-limit at all your might from time to time.

What some may call abusing, I call just having fun. I don't want to just brag how I drive everyday cuz any enthusiest w/ a G likes to drive it hard. it just sounds so nice, and I recomend an intake for anybody w/ out one.

Im pretty hard on my car and the engine doesn't show any signs of wear according to my last dyno. Hasn't lost power and runs great.

Feel Bad

After reading this thread, I feel bad for some of the G owners that feel 5K is abuse. This car doesn't even wake up until 5K. And for the life of me, I can't imagine spending a grip of cash on performance mods...only to shift shy of 5k. If i believed that spirited driving was "beating" on the G, and I dont, I'd take that mod money and leave it in a spare motor fund. At least that way I could have fun and haul ***, rather than ride slow and worry in a tricked out G.

would red lining once in a while with an AT transmission using Manual Mode would make a difference? as in, are we being exposed in the danger zone more in terms "beating your car"?
