thats funny i tryed the same thing with my cell phone and my 5at lol and got the same resultes even with some one else timming it i got a 8.2 sec 0-60 on dry road. i am a mile above sea level in the desert. when i ran it is was the day after it rained and the temp was 75. that was with power braking and launching at 2000rpm.

 

Did you have your VDC & Climate Off or On?
Couple days ago I `ve passed throw engine diagnostics at service centre(that showed my engine was OK), resetted my ECU & now have the following results for 0-60 mph:
bit more than 8 seconds launching from 0 rpm, automatic shifting
bit less than 8 seconds with power braking & launching from 2000 rpm, shifting up tiptronic at 7000 rpm
VDC Off, Climate Off

just an FYI, the AT 2003 g35 coupes only come with 260hp. the 6MT are the ones that have 280hp, not the AT.

 

just an FYI:
03-07 coupes have about 275 hp auto or not.
03-06 sedans have about 275 hp auto or not.

 

In the video it seemed as though your 0-60 time was slightly less than 8.0 seconds.

It has been mentioned, but with no brake torquing and heavy 20" rims, this time isn't very surprising at all. The magazine 5AT times are not done with the longevity of the car in mind, if you know what I mean.

This may have been mentioned but you're using a gasoline at least equivalent to the USDM 91 octane, right? And as warm as you said it was, the conditions are less than ideal.

 

I just watched the Youtube video. Timed it with a TAG stop watch and got 7.4 sec. It is hard to tell just when you get to 60, but it is well under 8sec.

 

Not every car will perform the same, even if they are identical. I would suggest you use some quality gas, get some sticky tires and give it a try again.

BTW I timed you at 7.2 with my stopwatch, that's not too shabby.

 

op - get a passport gtimer 2, $50 on ebay. that will give you more accurate times. timing it yourself = delay to start and delay to finish = more time than it really takes.

as for the guy with 20s - heavy wheels = slow car.

 

anyone else noticed he is in D mode? you could reset your ECU brake torque/power brake launch at around 2000-2500 what ever is the sweet spot for you, USE Tiptronic mode! in your first video it looks like your 1st gear shifts at 6000k...

 

. . .and like it's been said a 1000x on here, 03 auto sedans = 260HP.
. . .get a BETTER method to record time.

It could be the fact that you are not power braking or your tires arent up to par or something but honestly it could be because of your altitude. The higher it is the worse your car performs like I live in New Mexico where its above 7000 feet and my car hits 60 in around 7 seconds so you could look into that too! Good Luck diagnosing your problem.
