Well I'm a new G owner, and so far she has 630 miles on. I was wondering if it would be bad to take her on a 3 hour road trip, keeping her under 70ish?
Thanks for the info folks,

I would say road trips are generally bad just because they put a ton of miles and stonechips on your car.
but that being said, I can never resist taking my coupe for trips because it's such a pleasure to drive!
Driving a long distance won't be bad for your new car. just try to keep the rpms below 4000 and vary your speed slightly. Do not use cruise control.

Shouldn't be an issue. Like Fluffydot says - vary your speed, keep rpms below 4k and no cruise control.

It's a car, not a museum piece. Although they probably could be.
Drive that bastard.

they mean no cruise control until after 1200 miles.
Nothing makes me happier or more nervous than road trippin the coupe. Its a hwy monster.
watch for debris, your coupe wont clear ANYTHING in the road and the lights dont illuminate the road far enough to give you much time to react. Stay on your toes.
Dont tailgate. You will never forgive yourself for the chips. And windshields appear to be on national backorder.
Check your PSI before heading out, coupe's rubber is pricey. A road trip with the wrong inflation will kill a set fast.
For really long road trips, take a qt of oil. I know that sounds goofy for a new car, but some VQs drink alittle oil. You dont want to be stuck pouring in the oil du jour at the gas station. I very much doubt you'd need any tho.

Drive it and enjoy it, but yea about the chips, I got a leather bra right now until I can find a clear bra dealer in MS somewhere. It's ugly and I don't like it but it's better than getting chips and bugs all up in there. Just a thought.

I feel EXACTLY the same way...i just took the coupe out 2 weekends in a row..putting about about 900 miles on it, i was so happy to drive it, yet oh so nervous because of rock chips, unexpected pot holes, crumbs from chips(my dad loves eating on trips
)
im up to almost 9k miles since October..and i'm enjoying every mile.

Well just got back, and gave her a good run.
She averaged 23.8 MPG, and did the trip back in great time.
No problems, washing all the bugs off in the morning, I'd do it now, but its raining! haha Most of them came off with the rain, but I don't know if I'd like to see the damage in the morning.. haha
Thanks again for the info.
More of a first new car worry thing, and well... its a G...

Take it out, definitely. I just got back from a 3000 mile trip from NC to OK and back, and it was a blast. Hit 145 MPH in Tennessee, raced some mustangs, BMWs, and an A4, got 24 MPG, got compliments at every stop, and didnt get pulled over once. All in all, a good trip.
