Service Engine Soon light...

Hi everyone
i have a questions for you,
today i was waiting for my gf in the car and i push the gas pedal couple times while i was waiting, when the cars was off, then when i started the car slip, service engine soon and vdc lights all came on and the car wasnt accelerating, then i stopped and started again and it worked fine but the service engine soon light stayed on,
do you guys know if anything is wrong? how can i get rid of it? would i possibly damage, hurt something?
thank you for your input in advance

why would it happen?
so if i push the gas pedal when the car is off this will happen every time?
i have extended warranty on the car so maybe i will ask to the dealer to fix it when i go this week for an appointment to get my airbag light turned off which came on last week for no reason and they are changing crash sensor..

man, it can be absolutely anything. Mine came on cause my gas cap wasnt on tight enough. Its as easy as stopping at an auto parts store to find out why its on, or just ask your stealership when you go there.

i would think it would be your throttle body sensor. mine did the same thing, then like 3 days later it went out. and i got towed to infiniti, it has nothing to do with you pushing the gas pedal with the car off. get it replaced under warranty.

why would you want to choke the car by pushing the gas pedal while the motor is not running?

it's an e-throttle, if the engine's not running nothing happens.
even if it is switched "on" and not running it's injected so all the throttle body is doing is opening for the helluvit.
