2005 G35 Coupe with 51K Miles?

Should I buy this 2005 Black Infiniti G35 Coupe from an Infiniti Dealership? It has 51K miles on it, but comes with a 2 year bumper-to-bumper warranty. The seller is willing to sell for $19,850 which to me is still kind of high. I was thinking about buying it and then purchasing a set of 19" G35 wheels off eBay to put on it.
What do you guys think?

I agree. It was originally priced at $20,871 but didn't sell. I offered 18K for it but the salesman wouldn't even relay the offer to his manager saying it was too low. I came back 30 days later (after the price was lowered to 19,966) and offered 19 flat. He said the lowest he could go was 19,850

That's a sick deal! Congrats on the new car. Did she buy from an Infiniti Dealership? Or from a small dealership or private seller?

That's awesome. Can you specify whether you bought it from an Infiniti Dealership, small no-name dealership, or private seller? I understand I can get a better deal from a private seller, but I'd rather go through a dealership so I can trade-in my car

IMO, I think it's justified to pay a little extra knowing the car has been babied and taken very good care of. He has a couple other high-end cars all in excellent condition, and the G35 was obviously no exception... He didn't drive it too often because he claimed his Bimmers were a lot more fun so he decided to just get rid of it because it was taking up space (I wish I knew the feeling of waking up one day and just deciding to sell a nice car because I have too many other ones...). Besides, this one is still covered with plenty of warranty and there's no way I'm gonna put 50k miles on it by the time the powertrain warranty expires so I figured I was pretty much in the clear.
So to sum it up I don't know if I'd pay more than $19,000 for your car, but I guess I'm a little biased because I got mine for such a great deal.. I would look around some and see what else is out there before dropping the hammer on this. If the dealer is being that stubborn about it, think about how stubborn they're going to be when it comes to doing warranty work on your car.. If they can't even work with you to get you to buy their car, getting them to anything else will be a chore.

That 2 year bumper to bumper warranty is nothing to scoff at. Considering that the car being an 05, and the original warranty is 4 years, its out of its warranty period. You have to remember that the manufacturer partly base their calculation of warranty lengths on a cost level, a pessimistic interpretation of this is that this is when the real problems start showing up.
Having said that, I don't think this is a very high maintenance cost car but I'll leave those whom have a 03, 04 and 05 comment.
Is this a 3rd party warranty or an Infiniti warranty? I've never dealt with a 3rd party warranty so I can't comment.
When I purchased, I chose between an 05 (whose warranty expires now) and an 06 (whose warranty expires a year from now), and that extra year of worry free driving was one of the reasons I went with an 06.
My 2c.

Hey just letting you know i dont know where you live but i recently looked at a 2005 infiniti g35 coupe. black 51,500 miles on it good condition. besides a few scratches that your gunna get with any car. but she was asking 16500 and she wouild take 15,000-15,500. this car is in massachusetts but it is definatly worth it when you are talking about virtually the same car for 4000+ more. If you are intreseted i still have the womans number and i could give it to you give me a call if you want the number
