fixing my car before college, bad idea?

hey guys im going off to college next month and will be taking my 2004 coupe with me. ive been dying to do a couple pretty standard (and minor) performance mods like a z tube or pop charger, or even just a regular old cold air intake. in addition, i want to get my front bumper fixed.

this is from the previous owner. also i can see that there is a 1/4 inch gap between the bottom of the drivers side headlight and where the bumper meets the bottom of the housing. obviously she scraped something like crazy. would it be best to just get a new bumper, and would it be smart to just leave it like that for college or go ahead and fix it and hope nothing happens to it while im there?

also, if anyone has any suggestions for very minor mods that would be fun for me to tackle id appreciate it. thanks (heres my car by the way)

as for moddiing before going to college its all up to you, if you can balance studying and modding then do it, if you are not mature enough to do it then don't

my main question was should i fix/replace my bumper knowing that its going to be in a college parking lot soon where something could easily happen to it?

I don't think you risk much to your bumper. I would be worried about the body (I'm also a student and I worry about door dings/dents).

As for mods, looks like you have tints. I would add some clear corners, upgrade to projectors, and paint the grill black.

If you're looking for performance mods, I'm not too sure.

dude that's like saying "someone just rear ended me, should i fix my rear bumper knowing that i could get rear ended again?"

bottom line its your choice, if you feel like it bothers you, then fix it, if not, then leave it. It shouldn't matter whether or not you're going to college.

You'll need all the $ you can scrape together during the school year, forget about mods for now. Get the bumper fixed, there a bumper repair specific shops in my area....check the yellow pages in your neighborhood. Good Luck!

I might just put a lip on to cover up some of the scratches, oem ones on here are cheap and you can get it the same color as your car.

+1 on door dings being a proublem not the bumper/lip imo
