Changing trunk and torx bolts?

Hey guys,

I want to change out a trunk. Already have a new one (thanks MasterGrade), but have a problem getting rid of my current stock one..

The torx screws are stripped (like someone used a wrong size torx bit), so I want to buy me a new set of bolts.
anyone knows what size I would be buying?
I would VERY much prefer to not be getting the torx bolts, just 10 mils or something.

any input is appreciated.

thanks.

Call mastergrade and ask them what size they are or the dealer! Shoould be quick and painless, maybe!

You can just lift your hood and pull out one of the fender bolts out and bring it in to a hardware store and match it up. That happend to me so I just used 10mm bolts, but you can go buy torx if you want so this will happen again

you actually need to use a bolt with a flat head like the torx bolts becuase if you dont the top of the head will hit on the shocks and your truck will not close.

^I can go take a picture of mine if you would like but I have 10mm and it closes and I know at least three other members that have the same set up.

The bolt head it 10mm, not the thread.

Easy to do...Drill out the heads of the current bolts since they are stripped. After that, take the part of the screw with the threads with you and just match it up at your local hardware store. Are you running the shocks with your new trunk?
