Vdc and slip lights are on..ive searched

ok so I purhcased a used 2003 g35 coupe 6spd with brembos if it matters. I had to swap in a new engine into it since the old one seized and had a hole in the block. I completed the swap and got it all running and now i have the slip and vdc lights on. I have to mention that at first my steering wheel controls were not working and airbag lights were on, but I have since then changed out the clockspring and fixed those problems. I still have the other two lights show up.

When you start up the car and you can either move it forward or back or even without moving the car if you move the steering wheel left and right they lights will show up. I did some searching and found out that it could be low brake fluid or brake pads and well brake fluid is fine, but my pads are actually low. Could it actually be the brake pads? or someone also told me that my steering wheel position sensor could be off?

any ideas? thanks in advance

Without a doubt its the pads then because my car showed those two light when my pads were low. I haven't seen those lights since I put the new pads on.

when your pads are low, the fluid in the lines drop because the calipers have to clamp more to get the lower pads to touch the rotors. Once those lights come on you only have a couple of weeks max before the pads will be gone and the rotors will be metal on metal.

What are the details of your swap? Where did you get the new engine and what did it cost you?

I had a bad master cylinder in my 04 that caused the problems you noted.

Well the car is an 03 and the motor was purchased from a 2005 or 06 g35 from arizona with I believe 60k or so on it. Very clean, no sludge, no leaks..etc. All stock with the exception of urethane engine mounts and act clutch/flywheel for now. Ill be doing the brake pads soon since they are low and hopefully that gets rid of my problem

Finally fixed the problem. Once I hooked up the snap on scan tool it showed me that steering angle was way off so I simply had to reset it to zero with the wheels straight.
