My wheel was hot to the touch when changing to winter setup!
Sounds like a brake is dragging. Might try exercising your caliper to see if it is binding or stuck or just plain ol' cruddy.
With the old pads still on, pull the caliper and compress the piston in, REINSTALL caliper then pump the brakes. Repeat. This will get the piston to cycle in and out perhaps freeing it up.
Also clean and grease the spots where the pad rides against the caliper bracket. If it is all cruddy and dirty there the pad might not be able to relax away from the rotor.

A hot wheel is not normal. Definitely the pads are rubbing - your calipers are seizing or dirt behind the caliper (as thatguy said). Definitely re-grease the back of the pads and clips or it's going to seize again.
