well i dont know much about the hankook's or falken's but i am currently running Nitto 555's on my rears and they made such a big difference over my stocks!! Until i got my osiris tune that is.....now i just have way to much fun with them
Bottom line, the 555's can handle abuse, but i live in AZ so it might be different somewhere that gets a lot of rain..

Got (good) Rubber/Tires....?
Keep in mind what's between you and the road may save your life! It's not necessary to buy PS2s, Michelin makes very good tires that are affordable, go the www tirerack.com and check out the selection/prices. That's the only brand I'll ever use on my cars....

Thanx for the opinions so far.
Actually the car has the Vredestein Ultrac Sessenta on the front now, which are pretty well feathered/worn on the inside. The previous owner liked the cost of them, however, said they got really noisy as they wore on. The rear has Nangkangs which I've never liked either.
Just bought the car today, so I'll post pics after a proper detail and with the new tires/refinished wheels after I get back from SEMA .
'05 DG Coupe 5AT, Nav, Sirus, premium & sport, spoiler, 48k. Bought for $16,000 - Good deal?

When you're buying tires pay close attention to the wear rating. I've run tires that were great in dry and wet (very wet) conditions but the set only lasted 10K miles the wear rating was 140....cost $1200. Whatever you buy make sure the rating is at least 240 and not over 300, going too hard and your G won't handle at all!

They are only useful when comparing tires of the same brand.
I have Yoko Avids on my G Sedan and daughter's 00 Max.
I run Yoko S-Drives on my G Coupe.
Have been VERY SATISFIED with the brand!!!

Also understand that the wear rating is not standardized/uniform across brands.

I had s-drives on my 350z and loved them. They made a little road noise, but were very smooth. I also like the AVS sports *not sure if they still make that tire though*.
Very affordable and a great tire!

Standardized or not, my point was not to buy a set of tires that wouldn't last few years. When those Bridgestones rated at 140 only lasted a year I was pissed at myself for not being aware and TireRack for not mentioning it when I ordered them. I've been with Michelin's ever since on my previous Z and my G35.....I do have GoodYear's on our Corvette! Gary
I was only trying to clarify what the wear rating is used for.
I didn't want a member to compare wear ratings across brands. (This was/is my point.)
I was astonished when I saw that my friend had gotten almost 100K miles on his tires AND the wear rating was less than 200. I'm thinking it was around 140 or 160. Anyway, I asked him how he could get that kind of mileage with such a low wear rating. So, he educated me on the wear ratings.
(My friend is a retired heavy truck shop supervisor, master truck & auto mechanic and now teaches part time at a local tech school for fun.)
