My girlfriend died...need help selling the G.
My girlfriend passed yesterday at 1pm. I have never been so heart broken and at a loss of words. The only thing that kept me in Massachusetts as I told her was "you and this car". Now that she is gone it is time for me to move on. The car that I purchased and drove home on her birthday has to be sold. She passed at a tender 24 and I will be selling my G after a year of happiness.
I need everyones help on advice on how to go about doing this. I am being financed through Infiniti Financial Services. I would like to know the best way to go about selling it, or possibly selling it back to Infiniti. No trade in...I am taking a leave from work and will not need a car.
Its a 2003.5 Brilliant Silver fully loaded except for the navigation. I have 29k left to pay on the car, the sticker was 35,8k. The car has a couple scrapes on the 18's and some nicks from the rough weather out here.
I don't know if I am going to have time to check this board for awhile. So please post here, and e-mail me any suggestions or information. My Email addresss is jbarbosa@nextel.blackberry.net

Damn man, I'm really sorry for your loss. How quickly are you trying to get the money? If really soon then selling it privately really isn't the best option. If you can take your time with it, I would sell it privately and at least get back how much you have left to pay on it and that way you can move on. Again, sorry to hear about your loss.

Try CarMax or an independent used car lot for an easy sale TODAY. Sometimes it's best to take a small hit financially just to put things behind you.
The only other option is to sell it outright for a really good deal (like what you owe on it). You won't profit any, but will be able to move the car as quickly as possible.
Hang in there, things always have a way of working out!

Sorry to hear about your loss Sixone... I sold my Accord @ Carmax as well... Dropped it off in the morning, go back in 90min, and you have a week or so to decide whether you want to take the price they give you or not. I got $1k above what Kelley's Blue Book value indicated.
If you want to move the car quick (1day or less) without the hassle... and a fairly good price, Carmax is great (They are owned by Circuit City and customer service is great)
Best of luck in the future... Once again, sorry for your loss.

Re: My girlfriend died...need help selling the G.
My deepest condolences. If you need anyone to talk to about this loss, give me a call. I PM'ed you my number. As far as the car goes, not sure what advise to give you other than to take your time. Impulse selling can be as bad as impulse buying.

Sorry for your loss...
As mentioned above, I would recommend you take the car
into CarMax or similar used-car dealership. They will first
do a quick apprasial of your car, then a clerk will call your
loan company, get the amount owed, and you just pay the
difference between the apprasial amount and what you
still owe. (or they will write you a check if the vehicle is
worth more than what you currently owe). CarMax only
takes cash or cashier's check.
Good luck to you with the car... and you are in our thoughts.
