Tire size question
Tire size question
Ok well I am running right now on front 235/35/19 tires and on the back 245/40/19. I am using oem rays. I just had a big nail on the rear and I patched it up but it's time to get new back tires. So I found a good deal on these tires they are size 245/45/19. Would that be good on the back? I know it's a bit taller is it going to be that noticeable though? You guys think I would be running to tall on the back? Also I don't care if it messes up my speedometer by a few miles and ****.

As long as the "rolling circumference" (revolutions per mile) is the same as stock, you can run several different sizes. My sedan stock size was 235 45 18 and I am now running 245 40 19's. The revolutions/mile is the same and my seedometer is correct, but now I run bigger wheels/tires.
You an also run even larger tires just as long as the ratio of the rolling circumferance of the (front and back) tires is the same. With a sedan, it's easy b/c all the tires are the same size. I don't know if the Coupe's tires have the same rolling circumferance front and back even though they are different sizes.
BTW: you want to maintain the same ratio so your VDC and ABS will not get confused.

I have a feeling if you go with a 245/45 in the rear you're going to throw your vdc off . I'd stick with 245/40 if I were you.
