Goodbye g35 hello 2005 gto.

I am sick and tired of my g35's lack of power and I have been debating whether or not to go the forced induction route just to make the car run mid 13's. spend 7000 and have it run 4 tenths better than my currect best time. doesnt make sense. I need more speed. the new gto is going to have 400hp and run the quarter in high 12's bone stock. that is what i am talking about. i went and looked at the 04 gto' s and was really impressed by the quality of the car. interior and exterior. impressive for an american car. i have attached a pick of a gto with the autocross package that i am going to get. red with the red leather. thats hot!

I think you should get out more... I don't care if it's faster than an Enzo, it's a Pontiac... period.

Re: Goodbye g35 hello 2005 gto.

I drove an '04 (6MT) just for the heck of it last week. Honestly, if didn't feel as fast as my slightly modded 6MT coupe. Interior quality seemed OK. Wheel and tires selection not the best, too small and too cheap a tire. The trunk though, is a real joke, and no pass thru. I'll keep my coupe, thank you.

By the way, I'm an old guy, and when I was younger I had a '65 Tempest 326, '67 GTO, '71 GTO and a '76 Trans Am.

Its obvious you dont realize the G wasn't built for pure speed. Sounds like a different car WOULD work best for you.

Not a big fan of the GTO. It's very boring...I think a redesign is already in order! If I wanted just power i'd have bought an STI.

How much are they listed for?...If you want american power... just get the new C6... that will solve all your problems and you dont have to do anything to it ...405hp I believe or wait till the Z06 comes out with 500hp...

Why is 400 hp that important? What do you plan on doing....speeding from red light to red light? Put your ego aside and just relax.

I will tell you now, there is nothing out there like a G with forced induction. If its speed that you really want without sacrifice..I'd say skip the GTO and take a good look at some of the kits that are available.

Highlife lol you said it best!!!

"I am sick and tired of my g35's lack of power and I have been debating whether or not to go the forced induction route just to make the car run mid 13's. spend 7000 and have it run 4 tenths better than my currect best time. doesnt make sense. Well im not going to say anything cause those who know me or here me talk know that im a fiend for speed and performance but i still love my G35 anyway... The part where you said 7g's to make your car run 410th's, what are you dumb? You should search read up more on the topic, slap on a greddy TT which is [censored] compared to other and they got a time of 12.7 on 7lbs of boost, dont beluieve me? Its an article and on the back cover of modified magazine! If you want fast get the Sti, it will EAT up a GTO but not the new judge one coming out, i say if you want muscle go for the C6 Vette, or actually look into FI and you iwll be eating these cars up, its no joke..

Re: Goodbye g35 hello 2005 gto.

Actually the car needs to weigh like 6-700 pounds less. It would be a ROCKET then.

Of course, then you'd lose out on a lot of the "luxury" parts of the car (especially all the sound deadening). And if you lose the luxury, then it loses some of its appeal.
