As far as gas goes it sucks my g is way better on gas than the prelude.if u want something good on gas go with a Honda civic with a d15 motor if u just need something to commute with.
The prelude is a really reliable car as long as it wasn't dogged out real bad from the previous owners
I disagree, although the vtec kick in 5200 rpm, it goes all the way to 7500 rpm. That is 2300 rpm in the happy land and that is 1/3 of the power band and remember, it is 2.2 dohc and it kicked in hard. I had fidenza light weight flywheel and just with intake alone, it pulls hard and nimble. On track or moutain road, I can just let it hang at 2nd gear and enjoy the vtec. the fuel efficiency is not that great which i got average 24mpg. the transmission is consider as performance transmission that is not fuel efficient. some people swap it with accord transmission to get better mpg and some accord owners swap the prelude transmission to get acceleration.
