Another satisfied Firestone customer! Lifetime alignment? I'd much rather have the it done correctly the first time then you won't need to go back. I sound like a broken record (before CDs) but if you can find a independent brake/alignment shop where they have been trained to do alignment you'll enjoy the results and so will your Infiniti!

Every time you post its - sometimes its appropriate but after a while it gets old and lame. By the way Firestone can't do alignment outside of factory spec unless you bring your own for them to go by. That’s why you go through tires and I know your tread wear is bad off if you’re lowered and have a Firestone alignment. I posted a few days back on this thread suggesting it was alignment and I believe I was wrong cause the next day i started to feel it on my car. I deal with a shop for alignment that is known for High End sports car, racecars, weekly track cars, Jacked up trucks, and muscle cars. They are highly recommended around the ATL. My last alignment was 4months ago and this started happening 3days ago. So alignment is not my guess. Anyways, I’m going to the shop to put it on a lift. Update later.

I'm 99.9% sure it is bushings. I am currently replacing all the bushings on my suspension with Poly ones. I can only manage to change a few a day when I get the chance but each time I am amazed at how much better the car feels with each upgrade, after changing out the front lower bushings I gained about 7 mph before the front starts pushing on my local on-ramp. I am saving the sub-frame bushings for last but I would guess these have a big impact on sway. Rack and pinion bushings probably do too. My car has 120,000mi on it, the bushings are spent.

^I was just thinking this till I came across your post. It could be a number of things and there are different ways to check before just dropping money down.

OP, sending you a PM.

So just to be sure what are all the number of things? Endlinks, wheel bearing, bushings.... I don't want to miss anything. Also, what are the different ways to check other then driven witch does not help narrow it down.

Getting in there and checking torque specs on the nuts/bolts. He has 93,000 on his G so changing the endlinks would be a cheap route. You can first remove them to see how fluid/or not the knuckle is on them. For the hubs...one way to see if they are going bad is to jack the car up, with the wheel still mounted/torqued on, grab the tire on the top and bottom and see if you get any play/wiggle. Also checking the torque spec on the axle nut (150lbs IIRC).

I know a lot of guys don't have the tools just lying around to do this so they are at the mercy of a mechanic and shop prices.

One sure thing that will sway a car from side to side if all else is good is your toe setting. That should be obvious as well over time (not long) due to the tire wear and if off enough, the slip light will come on

This a very possible issue from what it sounds like to me and hearing the OP's problems. I too was originally thinking alignment, it was so bad. I would be on the throttle driving and as soon as i let off it felt like the car rear end was on ice. It was also a problem when the alignment mech was wondering why he kept losing his camber settings. He was putting it in spec take it for a road test, put it back on the lift to find out the settings changed.lol There was that much play in the wheel

So I took my car to the shop and it turned out to be the wheel bearing. Also, it was so bad that the piece the wheel bearing set inside of was fuxxed up too. I replaced these parts and back to new.

Glad to hear..... Did they do the hub also?? Usually if the bearing is that bad it eats away the hub like mine did
