Ses p0102 help

So I decided to wash the engine bay today and afterwards I started the car and it went into limp mode. SES, VDC, Slip light all came on. I went to get the codes read and got a p0102 which is MAF sensor. I took out the maf, cleaned it and the harness. But i'm still getting the errors and can't drive above 2500 rpms. Has anyone had something like this happen to them and could help me out? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you got your MAF sensor wet. Take apart your intake including taking the sensor out of the housing and let it all sit out overnight somewhere with good ventilation. Do not drop or bump the sensor, it's pretty fragile.

Put it all back together in the morning and I'll bet it works fine.

Hope drying everything out solves your issues! This is a very good example of why you never want to spray your engine compartment with water....thought everyone knew that.

Yeah very bad mistake on my part. Still kicking myself over it. I'll let it sit over the weekend hopefully it works. Thanks for the input.

unfortunately drying did not help. Still getting the vdc off, slip, and ses light. checked codes again and get two p0102 codes still. Tried swapping out maf with a friends and still the problem exist. I even tried putting my maf sensor in his car and it was fine.
