how does it sound and feel when you get on the gas

since i havent test drove a g35c , i would like to know how the car feel and ound when you get on it.

The closest thing i can compare it to is a newer mustang GT, since they run about the same 1/4 times.

The mustang when i drove it had ofcourse plenty of torque in any gear your in. You didnt really had to downshirt to get it going but to just floor the gas and it would just take off. You could feel a pretty good G to push you in the back on your seats.
can some1 compare the 2?

How is the sound?? does it sounds more like a v8 or a 4/>?is it loud?

let me start off by saying i have a sedan, so the coup is louder then what im going to describe. when you get on it, it lets you know that your geting on it. i fell its louder outside because off all the insulation. there is a nice pull in most of the grears. overall this car loves to get some gas.

In the coupe, the power is good, but gets great at about 4000 all the way to 6500. If you have the windows down, you can actually hear when the variable valve timing kicks in. The sound is very much like a Porsche. I love to use the manual mode and blip the throttle on upshifts. Downshifting in manual mode is also very sweet. The engine and exhaust note are definitely the best things about this car, other than the right on styling.

As motortrend magazine puts it "If you could squint your ears, you'd swear it was a V-12"

Re: how does it sound and feel when you get on the gas

smooth, but not lexus silky...
torquey, but manageable (careful with the vdc off)...
yes, you get a great push into your seats, but no tunnel vision...

put it this way though... after driving the G for the first time, I had to have a cigarette after... I couldn't believe I was driving a 40K car... it felt like much much more...

the g does not sound like V8... not by a long shot... but not at all screechy/ricey like a four-banger... the idle is very smooth... (some will argue that the best sound is when you first start the ignition, and the low growl gives you a preview of what's to come)... the exhaust notes are very low but at the same time significantly muffled to preserve that luxury sport coupe feel... I can't imagine how great it'd sound with an after market exhaust...

I've had people tell me that the exhaust sounds great as I'm pulling away, though from the inside I can hardly tell I'm doing 80 or 90...

With the stereo turned up to about 12-14, I can't hear much outside of the car at any speed and people can't hear any music leaking out of the car...

The G is a fine compromise (IMHO perfect compromise) between sport and luxury... exhaust hints at the cars performance roots, but not obnoxiously big and loud... the acceleration is awesome, but feels safe like even I can handle it...

Re: how does it sound and feel when you get on the gas

Hi there(POSTER JAXX), Toronto guy here whos waited over 4 months for my G35 Coupe to arrive in Brilliant silver w/ performance package(18"rims), 5AT, w/ NAVI of course! No regret! Anyhow firstly I'm not a Mustang fan nor one who has any interest in the FORD product line such as the MUSTANG. Firstly I shall suggest that you should definately check out the most recent issue of I believe either car & driver or Road and Track. I forget, but you'll immediately notice when you look at the front cover that they are comparing the G35Coupe w/ the Mustang and I believe the all new Mazda RX-8. Of course since this car is so hot and in high demand chances are from what I have seen that no dealer will have one available for a test drive b/c every one thats on the lot is most of the time SOLD or awaiting delivery. By the way relax w/ your improper or speedy rush grammar, some parts of your inquiry are difficult to understand, but I've made them out. This sports/luxury performance vehicle is definately a firm ride, typical of a sports car, especially due to the size of the wheels(18" PILOT SPORTS) one of Goodyears best performance tires. It sounds beautiful, it truly does, really harmoious and pleasing to the ear..quite a note! its not vulgar like what you would hear from a typically sooped of Honda civic or anything, not that they can evern be compared. Upon engine start up, that itself is sweet! You should read up and familiarize yourself more with this unique vehicle such as checking out the Infiniti website! You need know more about this vehicle. Of course and indeed the Mustang not only has more Torque but more Horsepower..but Mustangs not my kind of vehicle! Yuck! As one of the guys mentioned on this thread and referring to a quote from one the vehicles it does sound better than your average V-6, thats for sure. the engines really well tuned and one would not necessarily think its a V-6 engine. I'm still in the process of breaking the vehicle in as recommended by Infiniti and or the vehicle manual. The vehicle is a great buy and great value, however you'll come to notice that Infiniti has cut corners if you are as picky, knowledgable, consumer I am. The sound system could be better! Its just not up to par! Also the passenger seat should also have electronic features such as the driver seat. The rear arm rest is kinda cheap with that FUZZY material they use and easily scratches..Some parts such as the rear arm rest, and door handles are kinda flimsy. Once again I will admit that no one beats the Germans when it comes to SOLIDNESS. Don't get me wrong I love my car(G35C)and in my opinion puts the BMW 3 series to shame in many respects, but I will not be ignorant and say its perfect or even next to perfect. Finally the passenger storage compartment is poorly designed and only made to hold the car manual! Its so small you can hardly fit any CONDOMS inside!Anyway..enough for now and I hope most of you can appreciate my quality and detailed comments. Please voice your feedback in regards to my perspective on this beautiful vehicle!

Your replys have been very helpfull to me. That I can rest assure that I will be satisfied with the purchase of this vehicle.
i'm not a mustang fan either.
I'm also a car nut that will notice or look for every single highs and lows a car has...I know the interiro woudnt be perfect but the performance aspect of the car will more than make up for it.

Now if I can only find a good delaer to buy the car at.

It is quite simple. If you don't want to buy one "don't" test drive it.
Otherwise you just bought one!

Hi 35 to all,
Alan:-)

Pilots are Michelins!

Not to mention, they're also Tires, not Wheels.
